My family lives in Florida and they will be going to the parks with us on some days. I would prefer not to have to meet them in front of the parks. Here's my question: Anyway they can meet us at my resort (Polynesian)? What would you suggest?

I am assuming they are coming in one car...

I would just tell the front desk and security guard at the gate that you are expecting visitors, they should not have a problem with that. They may have to park up front, not near the room, but it shouldn't be too hard to meet them there. Then take their car to the park (as a resort guest you get free parking).

This may be OT, but would it be possible to go to a resort, say the Dolphin, and park and then take a bus to the parks? I am a new AP (still have that ugly green exchange card), but will be staying off property in April for 13 days.

park at TTC

Have them Park at TTC (Magic Kingdom), take the monorail to Poly (not the express obviously), and give them your room number. If you both have cell phones, this shouldn't be a problem.

I joined up with my cousins from Canada (I flew in from California). So, these things can be taken care of.

Thanks. That makes sense (especially since the TTC is a 5 minute walk from the Poly).:hammer:

Thanks again

That's what I am not sure about. The easiest thing to do would be to have them park at the Poly and then we all take the monorail or bus to the parks. But I think that non-guests are given limited-hour parking permits (4 hours I think) to park at the resorts. But I think this will be a non-issue since the TTC is so close to the Poly. This would be a problem if we were staying at, say, the AKL. Then, I guess, we would have to meet them at the parks. Thanks.

I don't think they allow this anymore. From what I've heard, you need to show proof that you are taying at the resort, or visiting somebody there, in order to park.

Meega, nala kwishta!
Yea, I'm in agreement that they probebly will not allow this. We went over in our vehichle to have breakfast at Kona and we were staying at AKL conceiage.

They looked us up on a list, then gave us a parking pass and said it was good for 2 hours and we could not park the car there for all day.

I've heard similar statements before, and most about Poly. That resort must get alot of people that park there and then use the monarail to MK more so than the other MK resorts.

They were very stern with us on leaving when we were finished with our meal.

Other resorts I've visited have not really cared too much. Heck, I've been waved through without them even stoping me at WL and BW. But most do at least stop and talk to you to find out why you are visiting that resort.

At the AKL we had friends visit us, and we did tell the guards about them. They did question our friends, but let them through with no time limits. So it's more about the proxsimity to MK more than anything else IMHO.

Okay here is the answer to your question. I stay at the Polynesian all the time. I have friends from Orlando and family members staying at other Disney Resorts visit me all the time. Call Guest Services and tell them your expecting guests. When your guests arrive they will need to know your room number. The guard has always asked that of my friends and family. After that they are free to park for as long as they would like. They will not be given the 3 hour parking pass.

It's really simple and there has never been any trouble. Hope this helps. Have a wonderful trip :D
