Transportation ? from the Dolphin

It will be our first time staying at the Dolphin/Swan resort. I know they have buses to the MK, however, I understand that it's walking distance to Epcot. My question is......if we walk to Epcot will we be able to board the monorail to the MK from there or do we have to have park passes and board from inside Epcot. My thinking is that we will get to the MK quicker and also go through the security check at the monorail station and won't have to deal with that at the MK entrance. Any thoughts?

It will be much quicker just to ride the bus to MK from Swan/Dolphin. The bus drops off right at the entrance.

If you walk to Epcot you will need to go through security and have a ticket to enter the park; walk all the way through the park to board the monorail; ride the monorail to the TTC where you will either need to transfer to the MK monorail or board the ferry to get to MK.

Thank you....that's exactly what I wanted to know. I didn't know if I had to enter the park to do that. The bus is a better option. Thanks

You’d need a ticket to get through Epcot, have to get monorail to TTC then to MK and still do security at MK.
Bus straight to MK a LOT quicker, we have done both.... :)

EDIT:
I would of saved myself 2 minutes typing on my phone if I’d read the above but at least you’ve had it confirmed elsewhere ! ;)

Your walking stride might be faster than their estimate but still...

Not to mention that the monorail ride to MK including the transfer is a little over 30 minutes.

The direct bus ride from the Dolphin to MK is about 15 minutes plus wait time.
But of course, it is kind of a fun ride, so there's that. But it's the sort of ride you make the time for, it's not saving time in almost any given scenario outside of "bus drivers on strike" or "major accident making roads impossible," something extreme like that.

To the OP - the monorail, ONE WAY, might come in handy if you had park hoppers and were planning a day at both parks. Either bus to MK in the morning, enjoy, monorail to TTC/Epcot for the afternoon/evening and walk back; OR start the morning in Epcot, monorail to TTC/MK in the afternoon/evening then bus back to Dolphin.

You walk right into the "International Gateway" next to the France pavilion. Doesn't get any more convenient... You can walk, take a bus or ride a boat. 👍

You certainly could walk out the front and hit MK by monorail and take the security hit there but you'll have to do it again at MK. And without a ticket to Epcot, you're not getting in. Really, in the end, you'd save no time.
