I would really like somebody to explain the whole bus trasportation thing. I just don't understand how it can get most of the CPs to work and stuff. Is it like the regular Disney Transit? Details plz... thanx:) Because I can't take my car so I will be using this system.

Perfect person to explain here, because I have only used the CP buses all 3 times. The way it works is that the buses go to all 4 Disney parks, water parks, DTD, Walmart, among other places. They run at varying times, usually starting around 5:30 to 6:00 am for parks/resorts. DTD and Walmart buses start running later. Some buses run several times an hour (like the MK and Epcot busus). Some run twice an hour (MGM and AK). And then some run once an hour (like Walmart and DTD).

and they suck....the J bus which is for DAK, yeah...its always late and/or broken down.....the best buses are the A(for MK) and C(for Epcot) they both have 3 buses that run 20 minutes apart and are practically always on time if not ahead...and i after a couple weeks decided never to go to walmart again because it took almost 2 hours from the time you got on the bus til the time you got back, i chose to rather walk to publix it was alot closer

Noo, I HATED the Epcot buses. If I had to go in early on the first bus, it was late a lot (and a couple of times never showed at all, which meant I was late for work). Then getting home was a nightmare, because so many people were leaving at the same time (unless I worked late, then the bus was almost empty). MK could also be crowded at leaving as well. I didn't mind the AK or MGM buses (although they used the tiny ones a lot for AK).

i never really went on the buses to epcot, id usually get on one to MK then get off at TTC and hop on a monorail....and i hated the buses for DAK, id always ask to get off about 15 mins early so that i could catch the bus and didnt have to wait an hour before i got back to chatham

so you dont go to work wearing your costume I assume if you're riding the monorail? lol So what's the dress code for showing up to work?

Also, where do the buses actually take you? Like if you work at MGM at ToT, how do you get to your actual job post?

Sorry for all the questions, I just want to get a clear picture of how all this works. :animwink:

If you go into work on a monorail or a public Disney bus you can not be in costume. However, you can be in costume on the CP buses (except for character attendants).

The buses take you to either the front of the park (AK and MGM) or backstage behind the park (MK and Epcot). Then you walk in and walk over to work (except for MK, you need to take another bus over).

Cast entrance, close to Costuming and not too far from the main entrance to the park in that case. A short walk from the drop-off leads you onstage near the entrance and another quick backstage shortcut dumps you out onto Sunset Blvd.

i worked at DAK not Epcot....so i usually wore my costume to work or some days if i worked later i went to DAK to play around and then changed into my costume before i started. when i went on the monorail it was only to play around in the other parks.

all but the MGM bus drop you off in the cast lots...MGM drops you off in the bus area for the non-Disney buses. DAK is in the cast lot, MK drops you off at West Clock and then you get on another bus that takes you to the backstage area of MK, Epcot you get dropped off in the cast lot in front of cast services

The bus system is terrible - if you have the choice to have a car or not, take the car - it will make life a lot easier.

It sounds pretty simple to use. Is it terrible because of the hassle of waiting and riding it or are there other bad reasons for using it?

It can definitely be a hassle. And a lot of times it can be very crowded. But it is definitely doable if you don't/can't bring a car.

As I can attest. Just plan ahead, give yourself a cushion of 30-60 minutes to get where you're going, and be prepared to have to stand up occasionally (or sit on a lap if you make a new friend on the way home from PI) :lookaroun and you should be good.

LOL Well I've been going to Disney my whole life and I've had to wait many times for almost an hour for a bus and I've had to stand up at times, so I guess I can deal with it. Not a big deal.:)

Speaking of Pleasure Island... I know this is a dumb question, but now that PI raised the age limit to 21, do they let under 21 CMs still go in the clubs? :( I couldn't wait to turn 18 to experience those clubs and now they pulled the rug out from under me lol
