Transformative Multi-Year Expansion Announced for WDS Paris

It did remind me of a show I saw at Futoroscope 20 years ago, of course minus drones.

I expect it will all come together into something more than the sum of its parts, and there must be almost a dozen different elements going on. I was impressed with some projection mapping on ToT and some drones in the distance so I'm sure I'll be wowed by this too. Like pov videos of dark rides, it's always more effective in person.

Kind of interested in the small glimpse of the berm and how effective it is in blocking out the outside world above the buildings of World of Frozen in this image from DLPworks on X.

Seems to mostly work, though perhaps a little more growth needed.

In regards to WOF, the Spin, and the restaurant - IMO they did a fabulous job with them, at least on the outside. Really classed the park up, which unfortunately makes the generic name stand out even more.

Either way, wonderful additions. And excited for both Lion King and Avatar, the latter of which now just seems inevitable at this point. Turbocharged, indeed.

Hong Kong really did luck out with Lantau when it comes to arendelle

The berm here looks decent though which is great

The berm looks sketchiest when turning left at the end of Adventure Way but I expect Lion King will solve most of those issues.

I've just got back from Epic Universe and wow - whilst I had a great time at the park - the berm is non existent and at times it's shocking in so many different ways. And whilst I do expect more from Disney seeing a few distance buildings whilst the trees grow in is better than the unsolvable issues at Epic.

The Avatar mini land announced for DCA was probably designed from the ground up to be the cheaper to clone and easier to fit Pandora, compared to its larger and more fleshed out sister at DAK (although the boat ride is supposedly an E ticket)

That link is broken for me, do you have another or even a TLDR
They're linking to a blocked site. It was discussed a page ago, when @marni1971 mentioned looking at the names of the barge arms, one of which points to an empty plot and is labeled "NAVI". The others are named for the areas of the park they are oriented to, so the idea is that this is a reference to the Na'vi, and that it's a planned expansion. There's an allowed article here, though the title is slightly click-baity and exaggerated:

Though when It finally comes to Paris, it will be different then DCA's based on the unofficial mandate of no clones Disney seems to be operating under as of late. Might go for something other than yet another boat/water ride.

The Loki reference makes me think the stunt arena will be removed and the area behind it will be Avengers Campus expansion. Probably waiting to see the post Secret Wars slate though.

sorry about that, was trying to link it to the article don't know what went wrong. anywho hope whatever they built is more fire and ash focused so each land stays unique

I wonder what Disney’s rough threshold for how successful fire and ash needs to be in order for it to have the third land rather than playing it safer with the two already established ones

I’m not expecting that fire and ash does poorly at all but it is interesting to consider. Though frozen has been copied so many times I’m not expecting they won’t copy DCA anyway

my only argument for making each avatar land different is each film is such a different atmosphere, unlike frozen where each film is in a similar inmoriment. I would also say if fire and ash breaks 2 bill and gets a best picture nomination it will guarantee another avatar land wether it be Paris or somewhere else. On a unrelated note still surprised there's no avatar in Asia

Im still interested to see how this land feels to be in because its a lot more “open” than Hong Kong (ps im really sorry if i mention Hong Kong on the Paris thread too often but its such an easy point of comparison given they are fundamentally mirrors of each other)

Besides the small part of the forest area that borders small world Hong Kong arendelle is almost entirely independently bermed and It doesn’t have a large lake behind it that opens to the rest of the park. I know there is also that little peninsula on the lake near the harbour which I wonder what they will do with

I said this a little while ago with pride lands but I’m interested to see if these lands feel immerse given their size or if they will feel like pretty extended queues

Like let’s say they ripped DAK pandora and put it here just having the area under the floating mountains and FOP’s queue (note I know they won’t do this I’m just using it as an example) would I feel immersed in that pandora as much as I am in DAK’s pandora? I don’t worry about arendelle much because the land is rather deep, but the images for pride lands as an example look shallow and wide
