Train Station Demolition-Toon Town Fair

Actually, Handicapped access was added to the Main Street Station about 5 years ago... so no, that's not a very valid point.

But, I haven't heard anything about the station being replaced, but I'll check up on it.

I do know about the 20,000 Leagues area, and I can tell you that a lot is planned... but even a lot can just be a little. The new Station in Toon Town makes sense. Current plans call for demolition of the 20,000 Leagues Show Building, filling of the lagoon, and possibly a pathway connecting the two lands. Something Disneylandish would be added around the pathway, but WDI isn't sure yet as to what they can get added. I've heard a Fantasyland theater, or a more formal character greeting area. But we'll just have to see what happens.

Remember, there is another Toontown (exactly the same as CA) in Tokyo, so I don't think the thinking behind this is that they can't have more than one. The biggest thing is that the WDW version has mickey's house just like DL, so I think that defeats the purpose of just having one.

It seems to me like no one realizes that Mickey's Toontown Fair was built as a temporary land. It was built for mickey's 60th birthday in 1988, as a TEMPORARY land built around the train station in less than 6 months. It became so popular, that in 1990, it was renamed Mickey's Starland and a show based on the disney afternoon TV programs was added. In 1993, Mickey's Toontown opened at Disneyland, and in 1994 Roger Rabbit's Toontown Spin opened there. As a way to update Mickey's Starland, WDW gave it a facelift in 1996. Obviously this was not to the extent of Toontown at DL, but Mickey's house and the kiddie coaster made it to Florida. Obviously, the imagineers would like to bring Toontown a little more up to date, but it just hasn't happened yet. Perhaps the new train station will be part of a new rehab of the land?

Nothing. It's a weak rumor that our friend here wanted to informally bring up on the first post.

When is the Astro Orbiter being demolished? :lookaroun

Or how about Dino-Rama? Pretty please!

I heard they're shutting down Walt Disney World altogether.... :lookaroun :lookaroun :lookaroun :lookaroun

Ok.. maybe that was a BAD rumor :D

Nope, it's true. Mickey Mouse was also layed off.

Actually Mickey resigned before being booted off of the Board so that he could become a martyr and start a public relations nightmare for the company......oh wait that was Roy, my mistake.
