What does the dinner buffet consist of? I am considering it but I do not see exact menu items listed. Fried Chicken and what else? Do they have macaroni and cheese, collard greens?

Tried Trail's End for dinner for the first time last year. Definitely the cheapest buffet on-property (especially with the TiW discount). Lots of good comfort food, though a bit high on the sodium content. (Had trouble taking my ring off that night)

It was our arrival day. We were staying on Hotel Plaza Blvd and had walked over to Guest Relations at Downtown Disney to pick up my friend's Will Call ticket and convert my AP into an RFID card. So we took the bus from DD to FW and then transferred onto the first internal bus that came along. After dinner we took the boat over to the Magic Kingdom for fireworks and a few attractions.

Thanks. I may try this out one night. I always do Ohana but I am trying to step outside my comfort zone
Ironic since Trail's End is almost nothing but "comfort food." Tasty though. I like it. Wife, not so much. We haven't been in a while. It's the only buffet on property she doesn't like but generally speaking wdw buffets are the only buffets she likes ANYWHERE. Boma being her fave.

Every time we go to Disney we stay at the Cabins.

The food at Trail's end is good but at the same time it is nothing special really. I would describe it as your typical southern style breakfast buffet and your typical southern style dinner buffet. So yeah, kind of fatty, kind of salty but if that is your cup of tea, than you'll love it. And it is easily in the best value meal per dollar tier for sure. Dinner? Mac c cheese, salad, barbecue, meaty fish dish, fried chicken, apple cobbler etc. plus a couple of random surprises.

They do have a slightly different menu on the weekdays vs. the weekends. They do have a really good fish dish that they only serve during the weekdays that is MUCH BETTER than the fish dish they serve on the weekend. The weekend seems to be slightly not as good as the weekday buffet.

ALSO, for breakfast they sale "Moonshine Juice" aka Jungle Juice...so if you want the Tusker House breakfast minus the $$$$ and Characters, you can save 40% off your breakfast for 90% of the same food and still have the very special sacred Jungle Juice. (They also sell Jungle Juice frozen near Tusker House which is x2 better than the regular juice in mine opinion. I wish I could get the frozen jungle juice topped with Lefou's Brew, that would be an excellent drink. And now that I am off track, I hope those tidbits/opinions of mine help

I do not think I have ever had disney fried chicken (I did Hoop de doo ions ago when I was a kid) so I would want to experience it. And I love comfort food.

Same chicken. Heck I think it's from the same kitchen.
The fried chicken at Trails End and Hoop Dee Doo is made in the same kitchen. Good, but IMHO the best fried chicken on property is at 50s Prime Time. :hungry:

Another place I want to try. I would be solo does Prime Time have that bar still (I think Tune in Lounge)? I remember years ago you could order off the main menu at the bar
