Also, during slower parts of the days, I have to ride the monorails at least once. The round trip from TTC to MK to Poly to Grand Floridian and then back to TTC to ride the round trip from there to EPCOT and back.

midway thru our trip I always head to the Beltz mall to the Disney shop and see what kind of deals I can get. (Got a Minnie T-shirt for $1.00 before)

If you want to save some time, try the Disney outlet store at the premium outlet near LBV. It's off of Vineland Ave near the Mary Queen of the Universe Church.

From hotel plaza drive go south on 535 and turn left onto Vineland immediatly after you pass under I-4. It's right at exit 27 of I-4.

-Always grab the little stones at Big Thunder
-Eat a chocalate bar before entering Haunted Mansion (that was my parents trick to convince me to ride it when I was small)
-Eat at Fun and Food Center in the Contemporary and the Ice Dots at Typhoon Lagoon
-Grab Guide Maps from everywhere even though I won't visit it.

I do that too! We always fly United, so most of the time I have to go through that tunnel. The tunnel just seems so Disney World-ish that its like an official start to our vacation. I get disapointed when we don't have to go through it, so I go through it anyway.

yeah, it is wdw'ish, it reminds me a lot of the old JIYI.

Hey! I thought I was the only one who likes that long hallway in O'Hare airport (United terminal).

I'm happy to know that I'm not the only one who loves Disney in the State on this board...

BTW: Have any of you been to that special Disneyana store in, I think its Glendale Heights. It's near the corner of Bloomingdale and Lake street. They have a bunch of actual Disney ride props there that they bought at auctions.

As for traditions... I always go to Adventureland first and ride Pirates of the Carribean.

I also shed a couple of tears in from of the 20K Lagoon, and take pictures of the remains of the track.

The last day, we always take pix of our hotel and other random stuff...We have to have a night where we can just go to an arcade and play games or go swimming or something, I don't know why, but it's cool that way...Um, We always eat at Mama Melroses, even though I don't like it there, lol...Probably some others but I can't think of any more, but brain is going Wheee-oooooo or something, lol:hammer:

A tradition of ours would be that we go to the Magic Kingdome first thing, and ride PoC. Also, the first place we eat dinner is the Contemporary Steakhouse. :animwink:

NOOOOOO!!!!! ;)

I used to have a tradition. When my daughter was still dancing (up until HS...and she has restarted recently) she always had her ballet recital on the 3rd Thurs in May. Since she was exhausted the next day, I always let her skip school, and we headed to WDW for the weekend. We beat the crowds, the extreme heat, and the summer afternoon storms.

See? you are a cool mom...

MY mom would rather me DIE than miss school for ANYTHING..

I really cant complain that much tho since my parents have been deemed "the coolest parents in the world" by my friends in NY for other reasons....

My brother and I always go to the Magic Kingdom the first morning we are there. We get there early go to the Adventureland rope and wait, a "run" to Splash Mountain. On the same note, I don't like the new walking with the rope policy. I used to love running to the rides early in the morning, but I do understand the safety issue on this policy.

My husband's family always made it a tradition to go see John Charles perform the first night they were there, first at the Poly, then later on the Empress Lily. We all stopped the tradition when he started performing on the boats and moved into the park (now he doesn't even work for Disney anymore). As a surprise at our 1998 wedding, I asked John Charles (the sweetest man on earth) and he agreed to sing the first dance song at our wedding!

Not a dry eye in the house!

Heading for the great escape.
Achtung baby

Our family tradition is lunch in Germany at Epcot, a strange reminder of 4 good years we spent there when we were 1st married. And ive always fond memories of the Becks.!!!:slurp:
