Trader Sam's discussion

I really could not disagree with you more, both with your opinion regarding Mizner's specifically and the monorail lounges/bars generally. Mizner's evokes extremely well the opulence that the Grand Floridian's theme strives for. The pictures you have posted both were taken during broad daylight, before the soft lighting and music are present. I have taken many first timers to Mizner's and they have universally commented on the rich and luxurious theming, comfortable chairs and intimacy of the lounge.

As to your comments about monorail lounges in general, what about the Top of the World Lounge at BLT? Gorgeous views, posh setting and a beautiful outdoor area. And, in addition to the Outer Rim at the Contemporary, California Grill's lounge/bar is outstanding, both prior to and after its renovation.

Wait, do you find the decor (and that was what I was talking about) interesting? Seriously?
My complaint was it was not evocative of the Designer they named it after... regardless of what it was originally used for... It's contract carpet , some tables and chairs and white walls...again, not evocative of the Mizner style... http://.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/disney-grand-floridian-misners-lounge607.jpg

I have been there many many many many times...lol I am sorry I chose a picture that was older... Adding the furniture doesn't really change anything as the second picture points out...It is a pleasant room but far from opulent....and again I was referring to the namesake of the lounge who was a well known society architect and designer...and how the room does not reflect his style.
Love the Top Of The World... It's a great place...but a DVC lounge...not an open to the public Monorail line lounge. I was referring to specifically the Outer Rim Lounge... not every lounge on Disney property

A hunch. Been the rule at Contemporary since around the opening of BLT (although that's motivated more by proximity to MK). Been the rule at Poly since construction started, and I don't see it going back. Have heard rumblings about it, but nothing concrete.
You may think those are the rules, but you are mistaken. I've found it to be much easier to enter those resorts than you think.

Agreed Mizner's is nicer at night.
And ANY room is nicer after one or two, um, let's say libations...

I'm at GF right about now and it looks like Mizner's is being "refurbished"

Trader Sam's works so well because of the involvement of the very skilled bartenders...also the quality of the drinks makes it a great experience... I get concerned when I see concept art of kids sitting at the bar...I am afraid that they will make it so family friendly it will cease to be a cool place to go get a cocktail....and in WDW , the bars along the Monorail line are all not too interesting... Outer Rim is less a lounge and more a wide spot in the road, Mizner's Lounge is a bit too small and bland... Tambu Lounge is always packed with people waiting for O'Hana and lacks any real charm except for the Lobby...So I was hoping Trader Sam's Grog Grotto would finally bring the Craft Cocktail to WDW....

I think there was some discussion when the concept are was released and the person that looks like a kid, is actually an adult...just drawn somewhat young looking.

Yeah I pointed that out w/the new art - looks like the same person shows up again, debunking the "child at bar" theory.
