Toy Story wait time during Fantasmic and Hoopla

Depends on the time of year. If the park is super busy, don't count on it. But when I went in February, the park was dead and the wait was never more than 40 mins. During Fantasmic, it probably dropped to 20.

But is it just me or the posted time on TSMM always seems inflated compared to the actual wait time? Sometimes I feel as much as 10 to 20 mins.

Times were over 100 minutes much of today. At 8pm (Hoopla start time), the wait time was 60 minutes. We waited almost 50 minutes, and that was taking the 'short cut' through the 2-man line. So, to answer my own question, yes, the line shortens during Hoopla and Fantasmic.

Sometimes they inflate the wait time to try and distribute the crowds a bit, particularly at opening and closing. They will also sometimes not use all of the switchbacks (or paths, in the case of this attraction) so that the line comes out the door and looks longer than it really is.

I don't know as I NEVER would do TSM without a FP. Even with a FP it was a 20 min. wait. I have to confess that I really do not understand the insane length of the lines there, it's a really nice attraction but it is not the best ride ever. I would never wait 2 hours or even only 45 minutes for it.

I always ask a cast member if I am suspicious about the wait time. SOmetimes they are expecting an influx because a show is getting out, etc., and they post the time they expect soon. So I usually say, is that a real time wait? They are usually pretty honest. I've seen BTMR with a wait time of 30 min and it is actually 5.

I have found the line to be shorter twice during Fantasmic. The first was this past May, and the other was the May before that. I agree that the times can be inflated - It said 75 minutes once nearing park close & the wait was about 25-30 mins :veryconfu

Something to remember about the posted wait times. They show what the wait was that long ago. Since they use the FLIK cards, they show the last card to get scanned at the load. So if it shows 75 minutes, that means that the last person to turn in a card waited 75 minutes. So you wait could be significantly different. It's far from being a perfect system, but it works better than just guessing.

I think the reason for the insane line here is because there are not many rides for the younger kids in Hollywood Studios...there are a lot of shows but not many rides..there is tower of terror, the great movie ride, backlot tour, star tours (which just opened back up), rock 'n' roller coaster, and muppet vision 3d..and plus who doesn't love toy story

We love Toy Story as well and have gone to DHS and never seen the line less than 90 minutes (when arriving shortly after park closing). We now arrive early and do the TSSM dash to get fast passes and an early ride in! I've had men pushing strollers run me down and curse us during the "dash", it's almost silly how crazy people are for this ride! :ROFLOL:
