Does anyone think it is possible for us to to use the stand-by line at TSM in the 2nd week of December WITHOUT spending all day there? Ive been hearing abour crazy wait times for the attraction.

Yes the wait times for stand-by are absolutly ridicules. I remember going there and seeing wait times of over 2 hours! If you really want to ride it but don't want to spend all day at the park, then I suggest getting up very early and getting there as soon as it opens. The fast-passes are done very early so I mean as SOON as it opens! :)

I totally agree!! Get there when it opens and make a beeline to it. Get a fast pass so that you can reride it but get right in line. Fast passes are always gone by 11 am.

I must say that we rode this about 6 times on our last trip. It is sooo much fun. Each time the ride stopped for a minute or so due to wheelchairs getting on and the such but rest your hand during this time because it is very tiring. I switched hands often. What an awesome ride, though!! My 4 1/2 year old rocked at it, too!!:)

My friend and I got there at open got fastpasses for rockin roller coaster then got in the stand by line for TSM which was about an hour then got fastpasses when we got out. It worked out really well.

My advice is to get in line in the 30 minutes before closing. It'll be long, but it will move much quicker thanks to Fastpass. You should be outta' there anytime 30 minutes after closing in my experience, plus it feels great to vent off the frustrations of the day by popping balloons and smashing plates.

well worth it

It is amazing i rode it 6 times one day back in June. One thing is have one person in ur party run and fastpass it early at the opening then ride rock n rollercoaster or another of ur favorite rides then go back to it and either use your fastpass or see how long the standby is. or do it vice versa because both rides still get long wait times.

In my experience, I would recommend being at DHS at opening. Head directly to TSMM and stand-by it. Once you get off, grab a FP and head to RNRC immediately. This worked well for me in July and October. I should probably point out that my July trip was the week of the 4th. Good luck, I think you will be alright.

We actually have ADR's for Planet Hollywood @ Lunch this day and wont be arriving to HS until around 2pm. It is however on an EMH at night day...so we will have a couple hours after Fantasmic to enjoy some rides as well. Do you think us not arriving until 2 pm will put a HUGE damper on the day? We will be there on Dec. 14th. :0)

Fastpass will most likely be gone for TSMM by 2pm. I guess my recommendation would be to follow Servo's advice and head for it around closing. Another tidbit, I heard the line can get a little shorter during BPB.

Just be prepared for at least an hour wait...at least.

I agree. The first time I rode it, I waited about two hours (about 2 and a half hours to closing). The next day I got in line again 10 minutes to closing, and though the line wasn't too much shorter, I only waited about 20-25 minutes. Guess it shows how much FastPass really affects this ride.

While I love WDW, I have to ask ... does TSM really merit a 1-2 hour wait???

If it is your first time on it, I think it does. It truly is a great attraction that everyone can enjoy. It is now a strong 2nd behind TOT on my favorite rides list. That said, after riding it multiple times I wouldn't wait longer than 30 or 40 minutes for it.

I would consider doing what Servo recommends at the end of the day because I am not a huge Fantasmic person. The only problem is I normally am out of DHS by 2 or 3. I like to spend as many nights as possible at Epcot.

On topic, I highly suggest that everyone rides it once. Some people won't like it, but most will.

Why waste the three hours before lunch?

Park opens at 9, you could go, ride TSMM get an FP for it and then do other stuff in DHS until 11-ish, then head over to PH for lunch and come back to DHS after lunch to use your FPs.

I've never had any difficulty filling a day at DHS. Of course, personally I'd skip PH :hurl: - but some folks swear by it.
