When is the Toy Story Mania Grand Opening and are there any festivities planned??

May 31 is the official opening date. No news on any festivities.

When I was at the cast previews this morning, there was an A-frame sign at the front saying that the grand opening is May 31.

Is there any chance that there will be a "soft opening"? We will be there May 23-27. Just wondering if we would get a chance to ride.

Boy this stinks, first the grand opening was the 20th now it's the 31st.

Also anyone know the reason for the extra week added on, When everything else has been some what on schedule (Annual Pass Holders / Cast previews)

Not sure where the 20th came from, but the CMs were always told that the 31st was the opening date.

The 20th came from a post back on march 30th, Topic subject was Toy Story Mania New Grand Opening Date.

Toy Story Mania is hopefully going to have its grand opening at DHS May 20th.
Cast previews are April 25th - 27th and May 2nd-4th!
Annual Pass holder sneak previews are May 10th-12th:sohappy:

Even if Midway Mania isn't officially open on the 20th, it's pretty likely that there will be soft openings. Since the ride has to be fully functional for the previews earlier in may, they'll probably just keep the ride running until the official opening. No guarentees or anything..but something would likely have to go pretty wrong for you not to get to ride on the 20th.

From what I have heard....Grand Opening is the 20th of May and Media Day is the 31st. That is where the two different dates are coming from. Now due to cast previews being pushed back later then expected, I wouldn't count on these dates to be official yet.


Can't wait to ride TSM! May 26th when I move to Florida!

Great. I fly over on the 31st so I can be there the 1st onwards! Brilliant. I'm hoping for a reasonable score, admittedly I'm not the best on Buzz Lightyear... :lol:
And 20th is my 21st so treble party time for me this month. :ROFLOL:
