Toy Story Land Opening Date Contest

I'll go for June 29th. I bumped into a D23 article mentioning "a super lineup of new attractions and experiences that are coming to all four parks, plus Disney Springs, beginning Memorial Day weekend, May 25–27" and futher down: "The eagerly awaited Toy Story Land will open later in the summer". It's just an article, but you never know!

I gave my answer on a different TSL forum, so now I'll give it on this one!
I still say May 25th, mainly being because just like with Avatar, that would have opening day be on last day of school. Plus, that's the day Solo comes out, just in time for Memorial Day Weekend... and because we're heading there for my birthday on the 28th!

For all of you guessing April, just remember (a) Animal Kingdom's 20th is April 22nd and (b) SW Half is April 18th - 22nd.

Do I think TDO wants a mad crush like Pandora in a park that will still be under construction? Nope. So I'm going with June 8th.

Hopefully they will do it for both TSL and SW:GE. If I remember, we got to select dates. So I would expect the land to open within a month after those preview dates.

I have nothing to go on but I'd see no reason we don't get any for TSL but who knows? Stranger things have happened. But with how the land looks, I can't imagine not having a month of previews, be it cast, then AP/DVC, then general soft to regular public.

I think there will be SW previews too. But at what cost? I know some will argue there isn't a precedence for this, but SW is a different beast. Insiders seem to believe there will be a cost. I don't see why there wouldn't be.

Disneyland canceled AP previews for Mission Breakout for a paid event.

Doing a google search it seems Cars Land was similar to Pandora in you chose a set time frame. It was a little different as in Cars Land only had 8am-12pm or 1-5pm while for Pandora we had smaller time frames to pick from, but then they let you in well before the time so ...

I imagine we have AP previews for both. At least I hope so. I really enjoyed the lack of crowds in Pandora for my AP preview (which was my first, apart from riding 7DMT when it soft opened at the 24 hour party).

I'd love to do both these lands with minimal crowds and wait times but it was almost a fluke I got to sign up for the Pandora ones so I'm already dreading the "where's my e-mail" drama for the new lands and their previews.

I liked that once you were in Pandora, they didn't kick you out.

Yeah, I remember that soft opening for 7DMT. We were wandering around NFL and noticed people were riding. So we got in line.

They handled the Pandora preview well. There was a clear visible line, cast members stationed all along to tell you where to get in line and answer questions. They let you in at least an hour before your time and you could stay well past your time frame. I thought if I left they wouldn't let me back in, lol, but I don't think that was the case. But it was handled well I thought.

I stumbled on 7DMT too. I was startled to see the line. I went on it twice that day. The line moved well because there wasn't FP+.

We noticed it around 11PM, so we had a bit of a wait. Only time I've experienced the fun stuff in the standby queue.

I rode Nav'i 4 times and FoP 3 times during my preview. Being a single rider was a bonus for FoP. The queue stuff is amazing.

Yeah for river journey I just got off the boat and more or less walked right back onto one. There was pretty much no wait. FOP has a great queue. I just truly can't imagine being in there for hours and hours LOL. As good as it is. As good as FOP is. My first ride on FOP though we had to wait forever in the last preshow room, then the bikes wouldn't "pair" so we had to go into a whole new preshow and start all over again and then go into the bike room. So I only went on it a second time lol.

Fortunately, none of the problems people were posting about regarding the bikes occurred on my rides.

Yeah, it was great walking on, walking off and walking on Nav'i.
