Toy Story 4?

This would be an enormous mistake IMO. They tied the series up in a perfect bow in 3.

They have plans for a series of shorts (Hawaiian Vacation being the first) so if they want to put them together (like they did with Mater's Tall Tales) then I think that would be more likely. I know there would be an enormous amount of money to be made if they did put out a forth installment, but this is one instance where they should let it rest. Let the characters live on in the shorts.

NOOOOO. I hope this isnt true. The ending to the 3rd one was perfect, it tied everything up. They should just lay it to rest now and either make shorts or nothing at all.

I think it would be a HUGE mistake. It feel they jumped ship with 3...I know most dont feel this way but i did not care for it.

Andy has children of his own and the little girl down the street who he gave the toys to brings them back for his children. Tada! Mega success ROFL

They really can't make a new one. The 3rd one ended perfectly. I have a feeling that if they make a new one, nobody would want to see it. Even though it's one of my favorite movies i'm not sure if even i would watch it if they came out with a new one.

^This could actually work. Or have Andy as a father, wanting his old toys back for his own children, and somehow tracking down/stealing the toys from that other family which now has them. But either way, tie it back to Andy and his family somehow. It would be a powerful ending showing Andy's kids playing with Woody/Buzz, just like Andy as a child at the beginning of TS1.
With the way the other films in the series have performed...a 4th would do very well at the box-office (imo).

Sorry wasn't too sure where to put this.

Just read this and thought it would be interesting to share and get people's thought and opinions.

The 3rd movie ended on a high note, and people thought it was the end. Then, a few months later, Pixar wants to change their mind and make more and more sequels, but I'd rather see a sequel to UP produced than Toy Story, since the shorts that will be put in movies such as Cars 2 and The Muppets is enough of a sequel series.

I don't understand why "Toy Story 3 ending on a high note" is used as an argument against a Toy Story 4... Would everyone be more welcoming to Toy Story 4 if Toy Story 3 had sucked?

Watching Entertainment Tonight now, and the ticker at the bottom mentioned TS4 is reportedly "a go".

Works for me. I'll reserve final judgment until I see the movie, but I don't see why so many folks are rejecting the concept on its face. If TS4 is a cheap, money-grabbing sequel, then I'll be right in line to complain with everyone else, but Pixar has never let me down* so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

*Cars is what it is. Not everything has to be high art.

Man, Im kind of torn on this one. On one hand I wouldnt want them to screw up the toy story legacy. On the other hand, my wife and I have talked about toy story 3 and how we would have rather had the toys end up with Andys kids some how. We have talked about a similar situation that has the toys making their way back to Andy... I love the toy story series and all of them are great so why not a 4th. As long as the story is made not to make a buck but for the love of the franchise, I say why not.

I agree, if its a straight to DVD/Blu-ray then HECK NO! But of course I dont think that would happen.

On that line of thought, I think we can take comfort in the fact that it was Tom Hanks who broke the news. If it were to be a cheap tack-on sequel (a la The Return of Jafar) then I doubt we'd see the same A-list voice actors.

If this happens, my kids will FREAK! They love Toy Story. I'm really surprised there hasn't been a Bug's Life sequel. Seems like they could have a field day with that.
