Tower of Terror's Echo has been misbehaving a bunch recently

Many things have been getting worse at the DHS ToT, especially Alpha and Echo. @marni1971 is probably not going to like this. Foxtrot is still (maybe?) locked in the big drops profile, starfield doors for both 5th dimension scenes are messed up(stars start to shrink too late to where near the end of its shrinking sequence it will completely turn off and the entire line starts to show up early before the "splitting" starts to happen)

What I want to mainly talk about is Alpha and Echo. Both of them have been acting up a whole ton this month.
Alpha:
Since a few months ago, Alpha had severe leveling issues when it went up to the hallway scene, which meant the doors did not open up on time, and it had gotten worse in early August to where the hallway scene had already started before the doors started to open. It seems that they have fixed this problem now, but it brought another problem. As soon as the door problem was fixed, the lights decided to not know how to operate properly anymore.
All of the overhead lights stay off completely besides the one illuminating the back wall with the window, all of the wall lights and the chandelier lights completely stay on until the window breaks, and the second light inside the front wall lights with the shade on them stay on as well, which means the VVC lights stayed on as well(these two are connected with each other).

Echo:
I have been seeing many different problems on Echo from different videos.
The Memory Maker system has been having a tendency to start up too late(VVC already stopped completely at the top).
The 5th Dimension scene is just wild right now. One live stream this week shown the lights not working at all besides the lightning and the eye ball projection, and another shown the audio not playing at all until the starfield doors opened.

Video:

With the state the tower is in right now, it really deserves its own status watch thread again. Come on TDO, step up your game.

Have you contacted Disney about it? The Welsh dolls had been missing from it’s a small world for almost two years so I sent a message asking when would they finally be returning and I got an email response, and then an unexpected phone call and then the dolls were back a few days later. I doubt many people know or care about the Welsh dolls so Disney thought no one would notice their absence :cautious: Worth a shot.

Agreed. Disney Parks is really good at getting back to legitimate complaints.

Tower of Terror is in absolutely pathetic shape. I've been saying for years that it deserves its own status thread WAY more than Everest. In addition to all these issues, most of the audio is now so quiet that you can barely hear anything unless the group you're with is dead silent. The video you posted is somehow way more clear than it actually sounds in real life. How hard is it to boost the audio? It's been a problem for years and every time I go back it's even worse.

I had no idea that this was in reference to the vehicles. Here I was, staring at the thread title, thinking... the sound design broke? "We'll Meet Again" is suddenly crystal clear?

I was thinking that maybe the ghosts were shooting spitballs or the cars ejecting people out of the tower. True misbehavior, poltergeist style.

I went on Echo today and it ran perfectly fine. The volume was perfectly clear and there were no broken effects.
No offense, but some of these issues have persisted for literally a decade. It's possible you are unaware of what to look for or how it is supposed to be (which is what Disney wants so they don't have to bother maintaining it)

Trust me... there’s plenty wrong.

Echo specially has a VVC that stops short, mistimed star field, way out of sync audio, missing drop shaft doors and entry audio, no live onboard photo, damaged strobes, no air blast, missing lightning

Then does it honestly matter? Been going on ToT for years. Yesterday it seemed like it always was. People calling ToT in "absolutely pathetic state" is a major hyperbole.

It's not hyperbole when folks who know 100% how something should run and has run in the past and can see that it's current state is nowhere near correct. Hyperbole implies exaggeration. Just because you're used to something in its broken state doesn't mean that it should stay broken.

If the average guest rider can’t point out any discernible flaws nor can I. It isn’t in “absolutely pathetic state”. It’s not like someone like the Carousel of Progress where a mouth isn’t opening or Nemo where the big fish on the robotic arm is stuck. Those are big flaws that someone can’t miss.

Just because the average rube doesn't know how ToT should be operating doesn't make it OK that TDO has allowed it to get to this state.

Just because the lessened experience that is currently running isn't noticed by the "average guest rider" doesn't mean that the attraction is delivering the experience that its designers intended. Why settle for "good enough, I guess?"
