By the way, I love your avatar CEO. Brian Fellows is hilarious!

I liked it when Britney Spears was with him!

Current rumors say that it will unvield tomorrow night. The new effects rumored are an effect that seems like the tower is burning down to the ground, and the possible disapearing guests effect from DCA.

Hmmm... Burning down? Sounds awesome! I wonder how they would achieve that. Only time will tell! :)

Oh...

I am going for Thanksgiving, will it be closed??? I pray not ! I have never been to Disney Studios and I really want to ride ToT.

Anyone know if it will be open?

Thanks,
Kyle B.

It will be open. They will be doing the testing after hours.

The rumors say that this will be like the one in the movie. Remeber when they were running towards the elevator shaft, then it opened and flames came out? Well, think of that, only your in the elevator, there's smoke around you, you feel heat, and you hear crackling around you.

Wow!!! That's amazing!!! The tower DID get struck by lightning, ya know...

There is one sequence where after the door closes, you go straight up, according to what I have been told by a reliable source. :)
Maybe I'm not understanding what you're saying, or I'm not remembering the ride sequence correctly, but where else would you go other than up?

I think he means it skips the story.

Which may be both good and bad.

Skips the story?!?! That would be horrible!! No one ever expects that part (people going on the first time) and the effect is awesome!

skipping the story would ruin the entire ride for me. That's one thing I love so much about the ride is the special effects it has. and even though i've riden it more times than I can count, when the ghosts wave at you and when the invisible door thing opens i still get shivers on the ride. But these effects and the new drop sequence sound awesome and it makes me even more anxious to ride the tower.

I'm not sure how it works to be honest. That is just what I was told. He said you still go through the story . . . It seemed rather odd to me.

He probaly means skipping the 4th dimension. He's probably confusing it with the new DCA version

In the DCA version they've simplified the attraction to stop at, but not travel through, the 4th dimention.(saving them a few million $$$)

In the drop shaft, some sequences start by dropping (like it does now), and some start by going up. The corridor scene and 5th Dimension will remain (how could they skip that, anyway?).

I wasn't aware they had a sequence that dropped first, before going up. Short drop.

New effects

The new effects in the drop shaft will include but not be limited to smoke louder cable breaking sounds and the smell of burning rubber. but thats not all. if anyone really wants to know what it will be like just ask one of our tower cast members. theyll tell ya

Ok, the last time I was on it (September) I swear I saw what looked like two people in metallic radiation suits in the dark at one point in the drop just a little below the outside doors. After having my eyes exposed to bright daylight and then being dropped into darkness it was hard to be sure of what I saw and I was apparently the only person in my group (or the car for that matter) to notice. After being told for a half an hour that I was crazy, I finally dismissed it but I wonder if that is in any way part of the new effects... I couldn't go on it again because I was the only one who wanted to (which is also why I haven't gotten to go on it since :( )... Anyone else notice this or am I just crazy? I'm pretty sure it was the right shaft (if you were standing in front, looking at it)

Mr. P you are not crazy (at least not about this!). I believe there is a whole other thread around here about this topic.

I saw them too when I was at WDW in August. I rode ToT at least 8 times that trip and made a point of looking for them on each ride. They appear to be human size & shaped forms made out of clear plastic. They are on a ledge/alcove facing you in the elevator near the outside doors. The faint light from the outside doors is just enough so that you can see them, but you have to look quick!

As I remember, you only see them during the first drop or after the first drop that takes you up to the outside doors. After that, you zoom by that point in the shaft too quickly to see them again.

of course, skipping the 4th dimension in the florida version is NOT possible. so it would be pointless to skip the story too.
