I hope that didn't make an elevator malfunction and drop down the shaft...

It didn't but parts of the building mysteriously appeared on the front of the tower, ruining the great view of the park you have while on the ride. Now you just see rooms and hallways...

Yeah, the building I work in is near the top of a hill, and is surrounded by a large fire-break between it and the woods, so we get hit all the time. But just like at WDW, there are lightning rods all over the roof.

I've been in our building when it was hit, and except for the very loud kaboom of thunder, we were none-the-wiser until our building ops guy told us we'd been hit. (Well, our entry-door card readers got fried, but they seem to die if there's a lightning strike anywhere within two counties of us)
