It doesn't sound likely, but i've been proven wrong numerous times. I mean, the ride has been open for 10 or so years, and had some work done in the fall. I don't see them suddenly finding structural problems, but then still leaving the ride open for another 8 months.

You'd be suprised as to how WDI operates. ;) Although I'm not sure about this particular issue, the case in the past on other attractions, is that potential problems were found during a rehab, the attraction was re-opened, and then closed again at a later date to fix the problems. It is also done after hours on some attractions as well to minimize down time. So, it's not unheard of, but I haven't heard of anything wrong with the foundation of ToT.

If it was foundation problems and they would take 4 months to fix, don't you think they would do it sooner than waiting 9 months?

If the structural problem is true, to bad common sense doesn't come into play! Lawsuits would cost alot more than refurb if they know a real problem exisit! this would also really give disney a bad name! Doesn't seem like they use as much common sense anymore!!

Not saying that it is not true but I just checked the portal and nothing is mentioned of any refurb/closing of TOT currently

I highly doubt this... The building is standing for 10 years now...

I've heard of a different kind of refurb, to "upgrade" the ride with the new DCA effects! :animwink:

Well i can tell you from my CM personal experience that if a cast member says an attraction is going down for a long period of time their more than likely right. The reason CM's find out so soon is so that the labor offices can make sure these CM's can get trained at other attractions around the resort. As for why Disney would wait this long to fix this problem their are two scenarios.

1) Their is no structural problem and they are adding new effects (while Disney is in their slow period for the majority of Sept-Dec)

or

2) Its a minor problem that they will fix during their slow time of the year

As for why its not on a portal more than likely its "unofficial" and the precise dates could change. But thats just my 2 cents:D

Yes and belive the bus driver when he tells you that Disney Sea is being built as we speak. Take what a CM says with a grain of salt.

Well inside when it comes to CM's talking about other attractions or whole theme parks then yes definitely take it with a huge grain of salt, but if their talking about their own precise ride or area they usually have better info. But thats just my 2 cents

It could also be part of WDI's Ride Enhancement program. They are trying to standardize all the attractions to make it easier for the operators.
There are a lot rehabs being planned but they haven't become "official" yet.
Like Dinosaur supposed to shut down sometime in April until June.
