We have had so many! Last year we had a nice variety the best being a cupcake for my oldest son's birthday.. we also had a minnie mouse and an elephant among other ones. We have never NOT had at least a few each trip along with what we had for stuffed animals arranged when we get back each night.

I got the elephant and a cute little bunny that looked like it was under arrest. On this note, someone told me you can take home the towel animals. Is that true?

We've gotten an elephant, a bunny and an alien (dressed in my DH's WDW ball cap), also the Mickey head (though not really a towel animal).
I know people take them, but you really should not as they use the towels and wash cloths that belong to WDW.
We also came back once to find all of our stuffed animals (I have 2 girls who were young at the time) sitting on the bed and Tigger had the tv remote and Pooh was writing a letter.

To our disappointment, the only times we've had anything other than the Mickey on the bed have been when we flat out asked Mousekeeping to do one for us. I was starting to think this wasn't something people got anymore (obviously not based on this thread). When we did ask we got a little duck looking thing to hold our toothbrushes and a bunny I think it was in the window.

I think it depends on your housekeeper's personality and just how busy they are that day. All of the things I mentioned above took place over a 10 year span and there are many times we have received nothing.

Well in our bathroom at home we have nine from various trips, however this year we got none! Shock! Horror. But we noticed no towel animals in anyone's windows and also in the Mousemaids trolley.Maybe WDW has put a stop to them, costing too much?We also spoke to another Scottish family who were at our resort at the same time as us,and they happened to say about the disappearing animal towells.

Wait... you take them home with you? You can do that? See I totally didn't think you could (I assumed that'd be in the same vain as taking the towels). If that's the case I can definitely understand the cost thing.

The towel animals we have are little bunnies, etc, not giant elephants or dinosaurs, anyway I presume you are allowed to take them home.At sanford airport "Anything to declare Mr Hatter" Eh yes,two chipmunks, one bunny, and four squirrels." Come with me sir" Oh S.... I knew I should have kept my big mouth shut.:)

You are not supposed to take the towel animals home, but many do.

If you really would like them in your home then you can buy books on various websites (like amazon) and make them yourself...might make nice Christmas gifts. :D

My wife asked one of the cast members at the hotel about a birthday cake towel in our room the last trip and she told her she could take it with us.
