Only one of Florida's big theme parks reported any significant injuries during the first three months of 2010, under the state's voluntary tracking program.

Walt Disney World reported five guest injuries at its parks during the period. They included: a 45-year-old man who experienced vertigo, vomiting and rapid heart rate after riding Mission: Space at Epcot; a 47-year-old man whose right side went numb after riding Kali River Rapids in Disney's Animal Kingdom; a 63-year-old man with dizziness and a nose bleed aboard Test Track at Epcot; a 71-year-old woman who had a stroke on the Magic Kingdom's Space Mountain; and a 40-year old woman with chest pain and anxiety at Animal Kingdom.

Universal Orlando, SeaWorld Orlando, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Wet 'n Wild did not report any injuries.

I'm guessing people age 40 and over don't visit the other theme parks then :p (j/k)

71 year old who had a stroke on Space Mountain?
45 year old who experienced vomiting, vertigo and dizziness on Mission Space?

I'm curious. Do they know if either of these 2 people had any brain activity before they got sick?

I feel bad for NO ONE who gets sick on Mission:Space.

There's the clue: "did not report."

LoL! So true, 'eh? :animwink:

But Capt, surely those Mission Space warnings are ambiguous, don't you think?

Given the number of visitors who go to WDW in a day, let alone week or month and even a year.....5 injuries in 3 months, is pretty low to me. Most of these could also have been pre-existing conditions. The fact that WDW posts if you are pregnant, have heart conditions, etc etc etc.

The injuries being reported is all-inclusive. It being reported doesn't mean there is any fault with Disney. If I trip on my shoelace and go to first aid to be bandaged, it would show up in this report. I'm assuming those bus accidents aren't on this report because (a) they were reported separately when they occurred and/or (b) they aren't in the reporting window of the report. They'd probably list people with splinters if they went to First Aid.

If I understand what you're saying correctly, no more than 5 people went to Disney's first aid for any injury, however minor, for the first three months of this year.

No offense, but that seems very unlikely to me. I would have to assume that the most minor of injuries (a kid scraping his knee and needing a Band-aid) just aren't reported.

It's just a guess, though.

Sounds like older people should stick clear of the trill rides.

Trill ride? Sounds kinda fun!
