I agree. However, if weather is bad at CC, probably also bad at Nassau, but port facilities and tug availability are different there. Also weather may be bad second day/chance at CC and then what?
This happened to us on our Halloween cruise last year. We sailed through a tropical storm the night before, I stopped by the beverage station for some hot chocolate and filmed a portion of the storm as crew members bolted down chairs. As a late sleeper, I stumbled out of bed at 10:30, looked out my window and saw a view of the ocean with CC in the distance. For the next 2 hours the captain struggled to back the ship into the area of the dock. Whenever the ship started to reverse, it would be pushed by the wind. After several attempts (I applaud the captain for his efforts) we waved the white flag and started home for Port Canaveral. It was disappointing for my family as we're the type that only gets off the boat at Castaway Cay (Port Time = Aquaduck Time). But as soon as we pulled away, the staff was hard at work creating new activities, offering exclusive drink specials, etc. to make up for the situation. The good news, we booked a 7-day Fantasy trip as soon as we got home to make up for our loses and it all worked out.
