ToT: Lights came on right before drop!

Can you picture being on the ride for the first time and having that happen? My kids have to drag me on it anyway because I hate the feeling of falling & losing my stomach. It's fun, but I hate it at the same time. :hammer:I still go with them each trip at least once.

I was there on Sunday and the same sort of thing happened to me. when I saw this post I thought maybe someone from my elevator posted it. The elevator was full of people going for their first ride...Being the Dance competition weekend half full of teen girls...but anyway...we got all the way to just before the drop shaft and stops...

We sat there for a couple minutes in total darkness then the lights came on. Some people actually thought at first that this was part of the ride...We then heard someone over the speaker apologize for the stopage and we got the full drop sequence....with the lights on still :)

Once we got off they apologized again and we got to reride without waiting in line again...Quite the awesome experience...

Btw the ventriliquist dummy to the left of the car is really freaky looking...he's just sitting there looking at you  lol

While I can't say that I've been stuck like that before...

Back in '94 - a few months after ToT opened, they used to have what they called "Shriek Out Saturdays" - basicly - pushing the ToT very hard - and having it stay open a bit later than the rest of the park.

During one of those "Shriek Out Sat" nights - one of my fellow CP'rs and I decided to go and see how many times we could ride (was a last minute decision to go and ride the ToT in like 30 min or so). I think we got in like 9 rides before they closed it down for the night, but during our last trip - well, it was just the two of us. Talk about a bit spooky just having you and another person in the car :eek::eek::

I have ALWAYS said that the dummy is by far the scariest part of ToT. I don't like sitting on the right side of the elevator because he's right there next to you... staring you down... :lookaroun

CREEPY!

I have never seen it. I guess I must have had my eyes closed.

I felt like such a dummy the last time I rode it. I forgot where the drop was. For some reason I got confused but I will never forget it again! It was so funny because I told my daughters friend that we were about to go up, when we dropped. She had never been on it before.

The ventriloquist dummy, "Caesar", can be seen after pulling out of the drop shaft, on the side of the elevator, just before turning to face the unload doors.

He is awesome.

Do you know for certain that it's Caesar from the episode "Caesar and Me?" The reason I ask is that internet sources are divided about whether the dummy is Willie from the popular and well-known episode "The Dummy," or Caesar from the lesser-known episode "Caesar and Me."

Yep, it is definitely Caesar, though most likely they are both replicas, not the ones used in the show. I'm not sure on that.
