How is the Tower Of Terror coming in California. I went on the tower of terror website a long time ago to see pics but they havent been updated. Anyone know if its going to be a exact replica of MGM?

It's coming along....check Mouseinfo.com & laughingplace.com for pics. It is not a replica of MGM's, it's a totally different style. Some say that DCA's version will be "cheapened up," in other words, not have as many effects. I hope that doesn't come true. :brick:

I really hope the new effects they are adding in place of the forward moving 5th dimension are really amazing. Otherwise, I fear that no matter what they do, some will always consider it a "cheaper" version of TOT as so many "insiders", who don't really know much, keep insisting. I think the new effect sounds pretty neat. From what I've read elsewhere, Imagineers have never really been happy with the 5th dimension since they were never able to make it seem like you were "floating" through the hotel. The new effect was supposedly the solution to that. Let's hope :)

Actually it isnt a cheap version. Its price tag was about 121 million , 1 million more than M:S . Most WDI adn CM's say itlll be better than the MgM one since it has more updated effects adn technology, plus this same ride system is going to TDS and Paris's so it must be good. One effect that i know of is the mirror effect. but i wont say more , to avoid spoilers :lookaroun . but if you want to know more about the ride check www.mouseinfo.com they have about 200 and more pages about this ride. But WDI are pretty sure this ride is a hit and will be better than the mgM version, as they go " MgM eat your heart out" :animwink:

I never really wanted the 5th Demension to be floating. I saw it as a change of the hallway. Amazing to me.
I doubt this new one will be better though. Hopefully for DLR just as good. BUt CM's and WDI want you to believe it's going to be the better one.

TOT sign is up

Check www.mouseinfo.com for the latest photos of DCA's TOT. Just this morning (Oct 2nd) the Hollywood Tower Hotel sign was lifted up and added to the front of the building, nearly completing the front upper half of the hotel. The sign is nearly identical to ours (although placed differently: each word is on a different "line" while ours has the words "Hollwood Tower" on the same line) , but the similarity on the outside really ends there. I like how they gave this Tower its own very distinctive look. I'm a little partial to the one in WDW since I think it gives the tower a little more of a "scary" look, but the one at DCA looks great!

That's not what I read. Orlando Sentinel said Mission: Space was $100 million and DCA ToT $75 million.

I would love to get accurate construction dollar figures for each of Disney's projects. Any idea where I could get this information?

Sometimes Disney builds muliple things as one big project. For example, Disney-MGM's ToT came out of the Sunset Boulevard Disney-MGM expansion project budget, Alien Encounter and Time Keeper came out of the New Tomorrowland redevelopment construction project budget.
