TOR parade float

Did anyone see the Disney float today on ABC from the TOR parade? Too bad it was raining but it was still very cool. I liked the new song that was being sung as well. The only bad part was that the cameras kept getting water spots all over the lenes and it blurred the image for the most part. Also, did anyone catch the announcer flub? The male announcer asked the female announcer if she'd ever been to California Adventure and she replied "Yes, I loved that ride!" :hammer:

You could hear the audience reaction to fireworks being shot from the float when it was on ABC but the cameras didn't catch them until toward the end of the song.

I just watched the parade on HGTV and the float was awesome! Also, there was a marching band that was playing Fantasmic Music. Anyone else catch that?

On a side note, Travel Channel is playing the parade again right now so you get to see the float for a second time!

I caught the parade on NBC and I thought the float was awesome. They said it was a brand new song for the parade but they used that song at HKDL for the grand opening. Oh well, It is new for the US I guess.:sohappy:

Great float, even in the rain. However....

I was very annoyed at the tv producers on all of the networks for botching the camera choices as the fireworks were going off. HGTV, NBC, and ABC all missed the fireworks for the most part and only caught them here and there. The people in the control room had to know there were going to be fireworks since it was part of the Disney press release, yet they kept choosing close up shots of the characters or float details during the musical finale. VERY AGGRAVATING!!! I switched around checking the others and found that the travel channel actually held on one overview shot once they noticed the fireworks were going off. This happens quite a bit in big spectacle shows like this (parades, half time shows, olympic opening ceremonies, etc) with the producer (person in control booth directing the show), failing to get some of the scope and overview of what's going on and having cameras just get close ups. Even the announcers and the crowd were all reacting to the fireworks, and it took what seemed forever to finally cut to a bad shot or two of the last couple. Thumbs down on most of the networks' tech people for a lack of planning or reacting! ok - - rant over..... lol

I know that they usually have a blimp to catch the aerial shots, but could not do it because of the rain. Perhaps this may be one reason why they did not show them.??

I just saw it on Discovery HD, great float and presentation, but the male announcer made me really mad:mad:
He said:"You know one of Disney's Rules is that if you are dressed in costume, you have to stay in charactor. So, if you're dressed like Donald Duck and you go to the backstage restraunt, you have to act like donald duck!"

The female then tried to cover that up saying:"Those aren't costumes! Mickey can't just take that off, he's MICKEY!" She seemed very agravited by the comment.

I did like her comment in the middle of the song "I Love Disney!"
you could also hear her "ooo" and "Ahh" at the fireworks, which she covered up with "I'm a sucker for fireworks."

I dont know what network it was but it was that guy who was a game show host, Hollywood squares or something....but anyway he even made mention of the T Fairy and S C....Makes for a GREAT family parade.

The female announcer that said that was Teri Hatcher from Desperate Housewives.
