Top 10 WDWMagic Pet Peeves

Another pet peeve that I can think of is when people automatically disqualify what a member has to say because they have a "low post count". When someone posts that, it makes it seem like this forum is an elite club where you have to "earn your ears" to actually have someone listen to what you have to say.

*Disclaimer- I realize I have a "low post count" so a funny joke would be to reply to this and point this fact out.

1. Meg Crofton gets too much credit.
2. Why is it WDWMagic? Disneyland is so much better in every imaginable way...it should be DLMagic or something.
3. Freedom to discuss your own ideas is completely overrated, especially when there are so many people who are so right all of the time.
4. There should be no "Search" buttom. It only discourages redundant threads.
5. Food thread pictures are ographic and encourage gluttony.

1. When people respond to a top 10 thread with only a couple of ideas and not 10. (I know I'm doing this now, but I'm trying to study and simply got momentarily distracted. :lookaroun )

2. Incorrect grammar and crazy fonts. For example...

why do ppl type lik this?

My top ten complaints about WDWMAGIC:

9. The Mom’s secret identity, as per a ten year old photo. Why are you hiding from us?!!
.

Do you think I really want any of you to recognize me in WDW? Seriously. I'm just too lazy to update it - I have a 26 year old photo of my daughter with Dreamfinder that I might post instead. Once I find it, and scan it. ;)

I love WDWmagic. I find it informative, entertaining, and on occasion even useful ...but... The "Lite - Mobile Devices" style/theme does not show post dates. When I'm checking in during lunch with the stripped-down browser on my not-so-smart-phone, it's hard to tell whether or not I'm reading something new or a very old resurrected thread... like this one...

Just randomly stumbled upon this older thread, but I want to add my two cents, anyway.

One of my biggest pet peeves is easily (and I realize this is really insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but it still bugs me) when people treat "Disney" as a plural term. For instance "Disney have," "Disney are," etc.

Disney is an entity, and as such, is a singular.

(Now watch, someone will point out several stylistic or grammatical errors I've made in this post, making me look like a complete hypocrite!)

Not sure if I have 10, but I'll try:

1.People who post sarcastically to try and sound smarter than other people.

2.Posters who get on someone's case for starting a thread about a subject that was discussed 6 months ago. Not everybody lives on the board.

3.This happens more on the DIS, but people who in their signatures, let us all know they're staying "Club Level".

4.Posters who bash a particular resort when they've never even stayed there.

5.This only happens on the DIS but it's so retarded I'm counting it: People that give advice on a resort, the OP says "Thanks for the advice", and the poster replies "You're Welcome" just to up their post count. Please - Get a room.

Bumping nearly 7 year old threads.

1. People who bump old threads
2. People who like Bon Jovi
3. People that have low thread counts
4. Irony
5. People who point out thread bumping
6. People who cannot figure out how to answer each quote within a quote
7. People who could not be clever enough to poke fun at ten posts
8. People who do not seriously reply to posts!

:ROFLOL: Just kidding folks! Good thread bump! Interesting topic!

1. A lack of free refreshments with each log-in.
I've written the admin's several times over this...and have yet to get any sort of response.

2. The stalkers that eventually wind up outside of my windows. Freaks.
For the last time, I was working for the Jehova's Witnesses...not stalking you. And you promised to never bring that incident up again!

5. Three words: Red Sox neglect.
At least the media cares about your epic collapse. I'm a Braves fan, and nobody seems to be talking that much about our...hmm...maybe that's a good thing. :lookaroun
"Epic collapse in Atlanta? What epic collapse in Atlanta? We're just playing it safe & resting for next season. Now let's get back to talking about Boston."

That first example you give is hilarious as it always happens on the DIS.
I know what you mean. There are at least one or two in any given thread. B.R's (Blind Responses) are just a way to increase post counts with a simple rephrase of an answer somebody else has already written. Of course, there are legit people who honestly do not read responses before jumping in & commenting with their answer...hence it being a "blind" response. But I wonder how many do it just to bump up their post count.

-People that are bitter toward DLer's (West Coasters) because their parks are getting more quality upgrades.

-People that use "Much" as an insult. (Ex: "Complain Much?" "Sarcastic Much?")

-Cowbell: There's just not enough of it.

-The fact that members here at the boards have come up with better ideas in the Imagineering forum than WDI has in the past 2 decades.

-Not using numbers in front of sentences for top-10 lists.

People who shout 'TROLL' at any opinion that doesn't suit them!

BTW: I thought 'Chit chat' didn't count as a post? :dazzle:

People who should get a room as opposed to posting on a public board:

"Here's my review......blah blah blah."
"Thanks for the great review. That was awesome to read"
"Thank you!"
"You're welcome"

:hurl:
