top 10 attractions at WDW that need to be removed, or demolished.

#10: Magic Carpets of Aladdin – In an attempt to replicate the Dumbo magic, the Magic Carpets of Aladdin is another in the long line of 2-D spinning rides, they all go around in a circle, and the individual cars can go up and down. Any older than about 3 is bored to death in seconds. On its own, the ride is ok, but with a few others exactly like it in the parks, Disney should have passed on this one.
#9: Triceratops Spin – See #10. Another Dumbo wanna be, but when paired with the horrific Dinoland USA, Triceratops Spin beats out Aladdin for the spin rides.
#8: Honey, I shrunk the audience – for ya'lls sake, i replaced tom sawyer island with this, i forgot about this dump!
#7: frontier land shooting arcade – most of the time the targets dont work.
#6: the enchanted tiki room under new managemnet - decided to mess with the formula, and totally ruined it. Now featuring Iago and Zazu, along with many of the original birds, it just has lost the magic of the original.
#5: Body Wars – OK, I know this ride is closed part time/permanently. It has to be included on the list though, it is/was horrific! A motion simulator similar to Star Tours, you entered the body as a miniature spaceship, and visited several parts of the body via the blood stream. Never a wait, even over Christmas, and nary a decent story line to be fine. It makes most people ill, and I have yet to meet a person who has rode this ride twice in one day.
#4: Circle of Life: An Environmental Fable – This movie is basically just Pumba and Timon from the Lion King added to remnants of Symbiosis, and Environmental film that opened in Epcot during 1982. It seems much older than 26 years, and Disney is missing a huge opportunity to teach and entertain the crowds coming to ride Soarin!
#3: Stitch’s Great Escape – A feeble attempt by Disney brass to turn the unpopular ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter in the Magic Kingdom into something more family friendly. The budget, no matter how much it was, wasn’t enough. This ride is neither entertaining, scary or funny.
#2: Journey Into Imagination – Another remake, this is a really, really bad ride. The original, while not great, was much beloved and miss. Dreamfinder and Figment are still found on t-shirts and stuffed animals throughout Epcot. While Figment has returned in this third itineration, his presence does not save this ride. No lines even during the busiest parts of the year, no interesting parts of the ride, the only reason to ride it is to get out of the heat.
#1: Conservation Station – I don’t know where to start. Who designs a ride that requires that you ride another ride to and from it in order to visit? The Wildlife Express Train that goes back and forth between the Animal Kingdom and Conservation Station is actually cool, you get to see cool backstage areas and who doesn’t love riding on a train? However, once there, they force you off the train, and to the back of the line to return back to the parks. There isn’t anything interesting at Conservation Station, but are often forced to stay there for long periods of time waiting for a return train. Please, never, ever, go to Conservation Station, you will thank me.

I DIDN'T MEAN TO PUT EPCOT FOR THE TITLE! :O

Okay, im gonna be the jerk who points out that these rides aren't all at epcot (in other words, you need to change the title). Otherwise, I think much of what you said has merit.

Yeah, title change. I agree with all but Tom Sawyers Island. It's old but it's an island with paths and caves and trees and bridges. What can you do. It's still fun to explore and we still go every time and we enjoy it. Stitch should be #1. BAD!

I pretty much agree with you except for Tom Sawyer island. it could use a bit of a sprucing up but I personally love it the way it is. It's nostalgic, usually peaceful, and the best themed place in the Magic Kingdom. It would be a real travesty to see it lost and become LOST island or the like.

Also, I did like body wars when it was around but I would agree that by today's standards it would seem very corny. It was the simulator with the most motion though.

I would instead add into this list:

Monster's inc laugh floor: Not very funny, and the MK should have less shows, less meet and greets, and more actual rides.

Backlot Tour: Aside from catastrophe canyon, the costume shop, and the preshow there is nothing left to it. I say figure out a way to make the preshow and costume shop a walkthrough, possibly figure out a way to save the canyon and (and since it has special importance to my family the disney plane as well) and use the space for something else.

#7: The Barnstormer at Goofy’s Wiseacre Farm – A rollercoaster for little kids, but the lines are always long, the ride is extremely short and there is no excitement at all. You never hear kids wanting to ride it again. While Disneyland has the Matterhorn where kids as little as 2 or 3 can ride, the Magic Kingdom has the Barnstormer. Ugg.

You obviously have never been around any of my three children. They'd ride it all day if I'd let them. :ROFLOL:

As someone that worked at the Barnstormer, allow me to say that kids love that ride. Yes, it is a silly coaster; yes, it is too short for its own good; however, kids think of it as a great way to start experiencing roller coasters and to try their courage so they can eventually ride Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain.

When the lines are really short, usually close to or after Wishes, I have seen large groups of kids going through the queue more than five times because they like it so much. :)

Remove the Barnstomer? While I would like to agree because it is a Vekoma manufactured coaster but it is one of the better Vekoma Junior Coasters they have ever built. Actually most of them are at Disney. But like others have said, it is great for the kids and if the line was short they would ride it over and over.

Matterhorn is DLR's landmark attraction and needs to stay over there. Some rides aren't meant to be duplicated, and it needs to stay that way. I;m sure when the Barnstormer is relocated during the expansion it will receive some changes to the themeing though but the current themeing is great already.

Actually Ive never seen Tom Sawyer Island nearly deserted as you described it. Its a great place to let the kids run around and burn off their excess energy and to relax. Sure its old but whats the age of it got to do with it?

Just wondering, where is Honey I Shrunk the Audience? That needs to go.

Cool backstage areas? You like to see wild animals trapped up in cement barracks? It made me very sad to know the animals don't get to at least roam their 'yard' in the evenings.

Are you sure those animals had to be in there for a specific reason like rehabilitation and recovery so they arent put out in danger of hurting themselves?

Could not agree more. I went once and could go on plenty of more trips without it.

I've been spoiled growing up in Jersey and was raised around "Boardwalk" life. So to me, Hester & Chester's area could go. I mean it's great for kids, but I would rather see something you know is "Disney Specific". You can see the games and attractions there on any carnival, Boardwalk or fair just maybe without the whole Dino theme.

The facilities you are seeing are some of the best animal care facilities in the world.

The enclosures provide a safe environment for feeding, care, and sleep for the animals.

Most of the animals you encounter on the safari would prefer to be in the secure confines of their "barrack" than on show and can more often than not be seen heading towards their offstage exits in the evenings.

Saying they are trapped is like saying that you are forced to sleep in a bed and it is a gross misrepresentation of the animal care standards that Disney maintains.

Awww, what a negative thread... :(

On that entire list, there's nothing I'd like to see actually demolished. Though, perhaps some TLC would do a few of them good.

If it makes you feel any better the demo folk would have to look for a really long time to find most of these at Epcot so they are probably safe!

Enough already with Tom Sawyer. It's fine. Maybe needs some maintenance but what are you gonna do? With the Island in there it leaves room for the Liberty Belle boats to go around it and I think that's a nice peaceful old fashioned ride where you can relax and view the Magic Kingdom from a different view.

Honey I Shrunk the Audience is one of the first ones I thought of. It was fine in 1995 when it was new but honestly why can't it be updated? It isn't like Rick Moranis is doing a lot of work nowadays. Make a newer one and have more 3-D effects in there to startle the audience.

Aladdin? Hey look, what are you going to do with it? What else can go there. It was a good space filler to be honest. What was it before, just empty space right? Nothing replaces Dumbo, there is nothing that can replace the magic of flying inside of Dumbo in Fantasyland with the Castle right in front of you. Aladdin doesn't capture you like that but what can? It's just a simple carpet ride with a decent theme. Good if you have a fastpass to the Jungle Cruise and need something to do. If Disney started putting them all over the place then I could see your point but they don't just the one at MK and Aladdin.

There's nothing wrong with Aladin. My little girl loves it AND Dumbo and The dino one at DAK. To adults, they're the same ride with different themes, but to her, they're all different and fun and that's all that matters. Like someone else said, Aladin is a great space filler, you can't put anything else there that can do what it does.

As for Barnstormer, so you don't like it, who cares. As stated, it's a great "first coaster" for many kids. If you don't like the lines, don't wait! It's simple.

Sure, some things need to go, some need some TLC, and some are fine. It's all a matter of opinion, but please, do know what attraction is where. That's just kind of annoying.
