Sorry about the sig. Is there really a five line rule? I never knew that - sorry. I didn't intend for it to be that long. I didn't realize how many/long the quotes were. I'll shorten it more. SORRY!:slurp: :hammer: :D

Let's see.... there is a 5 line rule.... and you say "I realize it's 9 lines but"... HERE COMES THE LOGIC:

9 is more than 5... but 9 to 5 is what a way to make a livin'. At least according to Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.

I guess I'll never understand why people love to write these horribly long signatures???? Especially several random quotes. I can see A quote... but 3-5 of them AND unrelated ones at that.

The only thing worse is the obligatory listing of every stinkin' hotel you've stayed at for the last 30 years. PUT IT IN YOUR PROFILE PEOPLE!!! Your sig could say "See my profile for a comprehensive list of every freakin' hotel I've stayed at on, near or while I was thinking about Disney"

Yeah, that is annoying...

But no more so than people deciding that the "Birthday" line in the profile is "n/a".:brick:

C'mon folks, use the birthday line, it helps fellow posters know how to respond.

I don't understand why you have so much anger towards listing the times a person attended Disney. I live in the Boston area and it's not that easy to get to WDW several times a year like others. It's nice to see how many times people have been and where they stay when they live long distances away.

It's such a magical place where you can become childlike again. Try to remember why we all go to see the Mouse.

Why don't you cut your signature down to five lines then? It's nice to see people following the rules and have readable signatures.

When I rode the train last weekend, it still stopped at the ToonTown train station, it just didn't leave anyone on or off (for obvious reasons). Instead, I actually learned something. To the left of the track (opposite of the station) is a small house and water tower. They lower a tube from that water tower to fill up the reservoir in the trains since they are powered by steam. The small house has something to do with releasing the pressure when they first start the train back up. Some CM in the front was explaining the whole process over the speakers as we sat there waiting for them to finish, but I wasn't able to hear all of it completely.

I don't know if each train has to make that stop each time it goes through that area or not, but it was neat. I guess that is usually all done as people are loading and unloading from the train and I never noticed it before.

The train literally comes within a few inches of a blue construction wall on the other side where the old station was.

I suppose some new, ultra-modern, fancy station would be better than rebuilding the exact same structure, but I personally never thought the old station didn't fit perfectly with the whole "fair" theme to begin with. Obviously it must have been falling apart and needed to be re-built, but I don't think it means it needs to be completely changed. Its like the rebuilding/fixing of facades on Main Street or even on NYS at MGM right now....although sometimes portions of the facades are completely re-built from scratch, they ultimately look exactly like they did before...same goes for rebuilding the train station.

As an addition to my last post, as of last Friday, there was no more train station left. Only the construction walls were present.

The train stops there to take on water once every 3 trips around.

Also, there is a little dispersement area there that diverts the steam from burning anyone when the pressure valve opens.

It's about place and time. You can simply list everything in your profile. That's WHY you have a profile. To let people know about yourself. I don't care where you live and I don't care how many times you've been down to FL. HOWEVER I know that many people do care... so I'm not saying you shouldn't be proud... just courteous.

I think the horizontal listing is a moderately acceptable version... but everyone's seen the people with 40+ lines of vertical hotels. I still think the profile is a better place for it.

Getting away from my own thread drift...

I'm very happy this is coming together. Personally, i think ToonTown has TONS of unused potential. Investing in a perm train station is long overdue and pleasing.
