Tonga Toast

After seeing the wonderful picture of Tonga Toast my DBf is very intrigued. We really would like to catch breakfast at the Poly when we make our journey down in September (we're staying at POFQ). However there is one catch, we really prefer not to do another TS breakfast (we're doing 1900 Park fare). So here's the question:

Does Captain Cook's serve this wonderful item? I've looked on allear's menu but it's from 2006 so I'm not sure how accurate it is. If someone has stayed at the Poly recently or eaten breakfast at Capt., can you remember if it is sold there?

Thanks!

In fact they do! They overhauled Captain Cook's in 2006 and added Tonga Toast to the menu. It is amazing stuff! I've been eating it as long as I can remember and I still love it! Captain Cook's has great food overall, so you'll definitely have a great breakfast there!

I haven't been to the Poly since I lived in Kissimme about 12 yrs. ago so it's nice to hear that one of my favorite CS's got some refurb love. I'll have to tell my DBf that we can indeed try this on our trip. Thanks for the info

Yeah, give lunch or dinner a shot, too. They have amazing flatbread pizzas!

And best of all, they now have DOLE WHIP!!!

You might also want to check out Boatwright's at your sister resort (PORS). They serve a banana stuffed French toast with strawberries that IMHO is a little better than Tonga toast. (the strawberries take it over the top)

I was wondering if they also have it at 'Ohana for breakfast???
Not to my knowledge.

Ewww... those things are horrid.

The Aloha Pork sandwich on the other hand... :slurp:

I did see that on the menu and the DBf said "oooo". I don't eat any pork but the sandwich does sound good. Too bad they can't make it with beef/steak/chicken.

Polynesian's the only resort we have yet to eat at, and we are doing the Luau in SEP this year. Will the toast be there?

No.

Personally, I did not like the luau I didn't think it was worth the price, I didn't enjoy the food at all. I was also annoyed that they call it "all you can eat" but they will NOT serve you once the show starts so be sure to fill 'er up before the dancers start. I felt rushed, I couldn't enjoy my meal.

I personally would not miss O'Hana.

We stayed at Poly last month, and we had Tonga Toast on our last morning. It's a smaller version of what's served at Kona, but it was PLENTY. DH and I both had an order, and I think we actually could have split it, and we are both hearty eaters! Think French Toast rolled in cinnamon and sugar and stuffed with very ripe bananas. Actually, I could have done w/o the bananas.
