Other than capacity issues and guest complaints, I can't see any reason this attraction had to go. Our state fair has this same attraction and its daily attendance is easily 100k plus per day.

Not to mention the ride operates 12 days a year and then sits through significant weather changes from -30 to 100 degrees (F). Maintenance and upkeep has to be worse on this than anything was on Florida's.

I can't be sure, but I don't think the buckets are stored for the winter, I think they sit right on the cable during the off season.

Oh well...

Once a shop that sold a variety of things. I think it closed back around the mid 1990s.

Reminds me of the old Frontierland Railroad Station:

Probably just me, but I really miss the old train station.

That was the FIRST thing i noticed.

Can we save that photo for the example of what bad show really is? :ROFLOL: The hell with a crack in the sidewalk or pealing paint!

Seriously. I'm trying to justify it in my mind...with a odd type of themeing, or something, but nope. That's horrible.

I suspect that Disney might be building something here. I mean, why else do the demolition? The "it's going to improve Space Mountain's sight lines" argument doesn't feel right, given the state of the economy and the fact that it's been unoccupied for ten years. What's the rush now?

If I had to guess, I'm going with sit-down restaurant, with an outside terrace for dining.

I agree with you, and hope you're correct, but didn't that 'sight lines' statement on the Hub (wasn't it the Hub?) also say that the improved sight lines would exist when Space Mountain re-opened? Assuming Space Mountain re-opens on time, there is no way they have the time to get a restaurant built in time for the re-opening. Maybe a restaurant (or something) is the long-term plan, and the short term plan is to have it gone and cleaned up in time for the re-opening? Hopefully I'm wrong, and they work in an expeditious manner and get whatever it is built in time for Space's reopening.
