I had an idea a while back to give DL's Tomorrowland a HUGE refurb update that would include closing the entire land for 2+ years and doing major construction on it. There were 3 variations of this concept I though of, each one containing different rides and designs.

Tomorrowland Refurb #1- Regular
The first idea is to give Tomorrowland a refurb that incorporates many different elements such as paint, lighting, texture, etc.

Area- Tomorrowland's area would receive several upgrades. To start off, the entrance spires would receive a whole new paint job, adding purple, gold, silver, and dark green to each one. The exterior portions of the buildings upon entering would be painted a mixture of dark colors so they would blend in with the surrounding enviroment. The ground throughout the land would be dug up and replaced with new concrete and cement and would feature various shapes in it to add a little texture to the floor. The surrounding murals would be removed to make way for a new wall that would light up at night. Portions of the entrance buildings would be torn down and rebuilt in the form of futuristic architecture. The entrance sign would be what stands out the most. Considering that the orbitron will be moved the entire area where it currently occupies will be replaced with a LARGE kinetic sculpture sign that greets people entering the land. Tomorrowland's area music will be upgraded as well. The rocket spaceport home to the pizza restaurant will be demolished as well as the Star Wars stage and new shops and restaurants will be added to the areas. A new area will be built to feature and accomadate various plays and performances put on by entertainers. At night the park would feature otherworldly neon lights and strips. Tomorrowland's new paint sheme would feature combos of red, purple, green, orange, silver, gold, blue, white, etc.

Tron- Star Tours will be moved to DCA to occupy a larger building while the current location will be home to Tron: Light Cycle Field, a high speed simulator attraction that actually moves on a track. The entrance will jut out at guests, pulling them in with their own curiousity. The queue area would be a sort of homage to Adventure Through Inner Space, looking alot like a testing lab. The far wall which used to feature the giant snowflake would now be covered with a fairly large LED screen, showing you the progress of various gamers. After a short walk through a tunnel that looks similar to Body Wars's queue you end up in the load room. Guest's light cycle would start out by moving slowly through a dark tunnel before getting "zapped" into the game grid. The light cycles would move atop a large lighted platform where the game grid would be fully simulated. If a vehicle was destroyed guests would still have three lives left. Each vehicle is on a six minute timer so waiting guests could get a turn. Those wanting to bypass the ride or just want to walk in, there is Tron Labs, an interactive, Disneyquest type area that allows people of all ages to get into the game grid and battle in various stages such as the virtual disk throwing, Master Control Battle Quest, Mini Light Cycles, Virtual Bumper Cars, etc.

PeopleMover- The old peoplemover track would be revived to perfection for it's return. The track would receive new lighting and fixtures similar to WDW's Transit Authority. The vehicles would be a dark purple with a sloped roof to prevent rain from coming in. The loading station would be fully reconstructed and would include new technology in it. While you climb the stairs to reach the loading dock the wall behind you would feature an ad for the Peoplemover, showing it flying around Space through wormholes and passing comets. The ride itself would have new music, new narration, new sights, and a touch screen. The touch screen would allow guests to learn about all of the attractions in Tomorrowland while enjoying a nice breezy ride.

Astro Orbiter- Returning from it's past is the Astro Orbiter, a futuristic ride designed to look like something straight out of Space. The queue would be simple, you would just have to ride the elevator to the top of the People Mover platform and board instantly. In day time the Orbiter would be a combination of broze and blue, and, at night, it would glow various colors.

Wall-E 3D- Replacing Honey I Shrunk The Audience would be Wall-E 3D. The show would incorporate animatronics and mind blowing 3D effects that would have the audience dazzled. The exit area would feature a meet-n-greet with the little bot himself as well as a Buy-N-Large gift shop.

House Of The Future- Returning to Tomorrowland as well is the House Of The Future, an Innoventions type area with several interactive exhibits inside. The exterior would be a silver color.

Carousel Of Progress- The final new piece of Tomorowland that would be added is the Carousel Of Progress. The show would correspond with WDW's newly refurbish one. The post show would be similar to Epcot's Project Tomorrow but would fit into the progress theme alot more.

Interesting idea. Probably not going to happen due to the fact that it would require the entire area to be closed for a while, but a cool idea none the less. I would love to see a Tron attraction brought over to WDW.

Thanks. I am still coming up with ideas for 2055 and Sci-Fi city. They will probably be posted sometime later in the week.
