Tomorrowland refurb or expansion needed.

I like Tomorrowland its one of my favorite areas in all of Disney. But the Stitch attraction has to go and I'm not a huge fan of the Monsters Inc one. Replace those with some original sci-fi attractions and I'd be happy.

That's all I would do to Tomorrowland.
I love this it would make MKs tomorrow land the best. To bad it will never happen

Tomorrowland is still my favourite land in MK, COP and TTA Peoplemover.. makes it so! But yeah Stich should definitely go bring back Alien Encounter and although I think Monsters INC is quite funny it just doesn't fit....

They need to remove the Carousel of Progress

WHAT!!!!!!! You cannot remove the Carosel of Progress! It's a classic!! It is a fundamental ride of WDW - like small world or POC - you can move it, but you cannot remove it!

I think realistically, they would have to keep the "space" theme (space theme by the 1970s definition) becuase the theme actually still works I think. Space is definitely still a "future" thing. I like that they incorporated Buzz because that makes sense with that theme. Stitch actually does too since he's an alien (although his ride is terrible). Monster's doesn't fit the motif, but it's a good "ride" I think. If they moved it to a Pixar Land in HS that would be ideal though.

I'd like to see a renovation. I don't think they need an expansion though. MK is big enough. It's already a 2-day (at least) park. They need to be renovating/expanding HS and AK before they do another expansion (and IMO even a renovation) of Tomorrowland. But, if I'm dreaming about what it would include, I'd like to see a Wall-E ride of some sort. It would actually be really cool to be able to meet Wall-E - he could just roll around like that talking trash can.

I also think it wouldn't be a bad idea to put a character meal back there. They could bust out those old-school Mickey Minnie future costumes they used to wear in Epcot back when I was a kid. Or, they could do a Toy Story character themed meal - they've already got all of the characters - Woody, Buzz, Lotso, Jessie and they could throw in Bo Peep or some other girl character to make it even (although I guess Pooh doesn't have a girl? so maybe they wouldn't need one). They've got the space for another big restaurant. And, I'm sure it would fill up quickly. They could also do another Pirate/Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique thing over there and make it some type of future theme - like Buzz or Star Wars or I don't know. Some kids are really into space themes and you know they make bucco bucks on the BBB and Pirate dress up things.

Can I chime in here? I personally don't feel that the CoP needs to be removed but I will agree that it could use a serious cleaning and refurb!
However comma I just want to say that Walt Disney himself said his parks would be ever changing, things would come and things would go, whether a attraction is a "Classic" or not by no means marks it for permanence. Case and point Snow Whites Scary Adventure was taken out for a M&G and Mr.Toads Wild Ride was removed for a silly Bear and his friends.

I figure posting here is better than starting a new thread. I too was watching a full Magic Kingdom walk through in anticipation of our upcoming trip. After walking up Main Sreet the guy went left through Adventureland and made his way all the way around. I was thinking in lieu of what I have read the park looked awesome. Until the transition from Fantasyland to Tomorrowland. I don't think a sign and a trashcan style change is effective. The farther along he got I kept wondering what had happened since my last visit in 1992. I think I'd at least like to see Buzz Lightyear go away or someplace else. He is A character from a movie that has nothing to do with the future. Instead, that building should go back to an aviation based attraction. I am a sucker for the omnimover. :) Get Virgin Galactic as a sponsor and base the attraction on civilian/consumer space travel. Spaceport America is alreaady built and operational... space tourism is on the horizon and I think would be a viable vision of the "future" for a long time for most people.

Make it so... ;)

I definitely agree with the philosophy of letting Future World be the place for cutting edge new realistic technologies, and keeping Tomorrowland as the "science fiction" side of that same coin.

With all this talk of "retro-futurism", I really feel like reverting back to the original style theming of Tomorrowland could accomplish that same feeling at this point. It's just the "future that never was" from a different time period.

The Speedway should be replaced by a newer version of the same attraction: an indoor, electric powered Tron-esque experience. The People Mover track could wind through that structure as well.

COP needs an update for sure.

I would definitely move Laugh Floor to DHS, scrap Buzz because that's basically a primitive version of TSMM, replace it with another cool OmniMover attraction. The animatronics in Stitch are awesome. The attraction itself not so. Scrap that too.

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
They need to remove the Carousel of Progress, put a bigger arcade next to Space Mountain, keep the planets on Astro Orbiter stationary, keep Stitch and Monsters, Inc., add Duffy, more meet & greets and gift shops, then add Fastpass and next-generation queue to the Peoplemover.

I agree, they do need an update. Since its suppose to be a land from the future, it should be the most modernized lands in the Magic Kingdom park! Perhaps adding Wall-E and Meet the Robinsons to the land...That area needs RIDESSS! I just feel like there's not enough in Tomorrowland that have to do with rides aside from Buzz Lightyear. They could have done more with the Monsters Inc. and Stitch...It also can't be made too futuristic either, it has to attract kids to it as well!

While I definitely agree it could use an expansion and refurb of all sorts, I think it's a tough call because much of what I feel when I go into Tomorrowland is a 1950s-1960s philosphy of what tomorrow will bring. With the government's "diminished" focus on the space program, transportation still heavily rooted in automobile based vehicles, and technology moving more towards computer/web based matters- it's hard to think of a strong visual perspective for any re-imagined Tomorrowland. Futureworld in Epcot suffers from some of the same. And I'm really tired of everything being based on movies and characters...in fact, I think that's the big draw of some of the earlier rides in all parts of MK...i.e. it didn't need a movie hook to make it good. Still, I think it would be funny if things like the Speedway were repurposed into larger tracks with flying saucers you could drive/fly, some kind of deep space exploration simulator with alien encounters, maybe something sponsored by the private firms trying to look into new areas of space exploration for some kind of neat ride through omnivore style ride, a nice refurb of CoP, etc.

I have so many changes I'd like to make to Tomorrowland. No one will read them all, but I'll try to describe some highlights.

First, the Tomorrowland Speedway needs some major changes. I think that if they don't make a Carsland in WDW, make this a Cars themed ride. If not, get rid of it completely. Another really good ride could go there. Right now, it's the definition of yesterday.

Another thing that I'd like to see is the Carousel of Progress get a paint job. It looks dated and isn't very visually appealing. It's not really the most important thing to do though. A lot of Tomorrowland could use a paint job, but this is the one that bothers me lol.

More for practical use, they need to do something with the Astro Orbiter and People Mover line. From what I've seen, it's really unorganized.

They can also get rid of Stitch and The Laugh Floor. They could put better attractions there. A Wall-E show would be ideal.

The transition needs work, but I do admit it must be really challenging to find a transition between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.
