I can’t be the only one who was not expecting any announcements regarding Tomorrowland.

With all the rumors lately and the fact that they wasted announcing MMRR on a parks blog, I thought we might hear a vague “Pixar Pier” kind of announcement with maybe one piece of concept art. I didn’t have a TL announcement in my official D23 predictions for this year though.

I guess that that the “big surprise” was Avengers. Maybe that’s why they thought they could waste the MMRR announcement on a blog? It wasn’t a surprise to us (but what is?) but if I’m not mistaken they have never officially mentioned an Avengers ride.

Yeah, I was honestly a bit surprised by the Avengers announcement. The ride sounds insane.

I do miss being completely surprised by announcements. Hanging out on the boards completely kills that.

BUT you get to wow your non-Disnerd friends with all the rumors and tidbits you gleaned from the boards. All the Disneyland information they didn't know they didn't care about!

Expecting, no. Hoping, yes.

I mean they could still drop a vague blog post about it in the future. Start with a casual post about removing the PM tracks to improve guest flow....
So they are rebuilding Tomorrowland without anyone knowing they are rebuilding Tomorrowland.

Maybe in order to do all of TL, the price tag was simply too steep. So, rather than cheap out, they might have to break up the project and just do it piecemeal over the next 4-7 years.

Even though it may be an engineering / operational challenge, they might prefer those headaches to a super-expensive do-it-all-at-once plan.

Shame because that means only one or two things will actually get done before management changes or cuts the budget and we're left with a half-finished land for two decades.

Possibly - that's what happens to cathedrals that take 100+ years to finish!

They could be sneaky and like do it one building block at a time, but with the Tronket Rod track required for that block integrated within it. And if Tronket Rods touches every attraction's building in Tomorrowland, then that sort of commits management to seeing the whole project through!

Well if you believe the recent WDW(site that shall not be named)NT article they've committed only $600M to the project. While $800M is going to HollywoodLand. So something is being done, just don't know what exactly and when. Though the article say completion by 2025-26

Price seems to low. That seems more like the price for gutting TL than for the entire project.
