Tomorrowland Overhaul Speculation

So according to our friend @T.Will s rumors the TL roster would look something like this...

Announced as the Secret Project at D23
Space Mountain 2025
Demolish Astro Blasters for new Rocket Rods
New spinner with a new placement
Rethemed Star Tours
Essentially this. But they're not my rumors; they're from an acquaintance who says he has insiders.

The only other thing he said he was told was that the TL overhaul would be used to refurbish and redo the trains and railroad. Such as to replace one of the sideways train sets with a forward one for higher capacity.

Shoot. I like the sideway cars. I wonder if lines would still be long with everyone waiting for the remaining sideway seating cars.

Are we to assume Buzz is replaced by the TRON ride in this scenario? If so, it makes a lot of sense.

Hmmm. Maybe the Troncket Rods will have two show buildings? Buzz and Carrousel Theatre.

EDIT: I doubt it. That would be a net loss of 2 attractions. 3 if you count the Magic Eye theatre.

That didn’t stop them before. Rocket Rods took out the circle-vision theatre and the people-mover.

Well that would only be a net loss of 1 attraction.

Of course, capacity Is the key but would the Troncket Rods and Space Mountain 2025 (with more capacity if possible) make up for the loss of capacity from losing Autopia, Nemo, Launch Bay and the Magic Eye (yes I feel silly including this one and the 17 people who go in there a day)?

I think Buzz stays and is plussed or another attraction goes in that building.

Previously I was certain there would be no Tomorrowland announcement. I figured Star Wars’ shaky opening would have spooked them into not doing anything big until RotR opened, and they could collect data, crunch numbers and plan.

Now there has been a subtle uptick in Tomorrowland rumors the past few weeks. This would normally be the time that “Tomorrowland ain’t happening at D23” rumors would start to surface. The opposite has happened. Heck, the rocks are being removed as we speak!

There’s still time to cut things from the presentations so who knows. But I think the scales are tipping toward new Tomorrowland as a go.

Honestly I’d be down with Troncket Rods. Sounds like it could be done really well!

Do we see an extension to Buzz? Maybe taking over the Galactic Grill?? I feel like the Buzz ride is too short to get the Shanghai treatment.
According to this rumor, Buzz and the building would be completely demolished and replaced with new pathways for better flow and a new building that features Troncket Rods.

Aw dang. Not gonna lie, I actually really like Buzz Lightyear, favorite ride in Tomorrowland. Hopefully Buzz remains and that rumor is false. It has awful placement, I wish it was feasible to move Buzz somewhere else.

Also might be unpopular I really don’t know but Buzz > Midway Mania.

I'm sorry but I rather them move on from the failed Rocket Rods idea. Build something new if its not going to be the Tron coaster.

TDA, Don't rehash an old already failed idea just because you don't like Tron being forced on you. Aww, who am I kidding, that is the very definition of cheap, something I know they'll do anyways.

@mickEblu I'm not sure why you're giddy about this rumor, I figured you'd be all over the fact that its a cheap and uninspiring. The Tron coaster is at least a thrill ride, something I know you want more of at DLR. This Rocket Rods rehash won't be a thrill ride.

This is a rare case were id prefer something to be IP based. The only concern is that Tron might be odd considering the track is outdoors.
