Tomorrowland new entrance

And that it's becoming increasingly unlikely they'll demo the place and construct something in the near future I would appreciate and approve.

I’m not sensing a full demo either. Do you not like the idea of a retro TL skin for the new TL? Not necessary the old rides but just in it’s look and feel.

I'm amazed that it looks like that's what we're getting. Honestly, make the place look like it did pre '98 and that'll fix half of the lands issues right there.
I just hate to see good money spent on poor, temporary ideas - Tomorrowland 98, and then the “de-bronzing”, and now the retro reskin, etc. it just takes capital away from a real long-term solution. Rather not do anything until they have a real strategy and then bulldoze it all and do it right.

I do like the "back to basics" approach, but only because apparently WDI lacks the skill and talent to do something more compelling with the theme. Like it or not SWGE pushed the art of Disney theme park design forward, a thing rarely seen at DL Park in Anaheim these days. I would expect the same for a refresh of Walt Disney's original Tomorrowland, but sadly retro future set dressing is the best they can piece together. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Seeing them sell Death Star balloons in Town Square a couple years ago was the low point for me. It was just such a clear example of how much the current regime doesn’t “get it.”

Or the Fantasyland themed merchandise carts found there now. Especially tacky since they block walkways, while simultaneously we're losing planters left and right to widen paths.

My issues with the place aside, SWGE pushed
the the art of Disney theme park design forward. It just did it at the wrong park. With that said did it do anything Pandora or Cars Land or Wizarding World didn’t do?

As someone who didn’t get to experience TL 67, I’m pretty excited for a “retro TL.” I understand that it’s not futuristic in the modern sense of the word but if Los Angeles looked and felt like TL 67 in 30 years I’d be ecstatic.

I think when it comes to Tomorrowland imagineers need to focus on the word “Hope.” They need to think with their Hearts and not their minds. What do we want the world to look and be like. Not what we think it will look like. In that way, it can never be outdated.
Exactly - it needs a holistic strategy vs the hodgepodge of ideas it’s been. WDI has the same issue with Epcot’s Future World and all of the Tomorrowlands around the world.

They are about to open a Moana water area in Future World and The Happy Ride with Baymax in Tokyo’s Tomorrowland.

Doesn’t exactly build your confidence in them to create a bold vision of Tomorrow....

Back to basics. Disneyland was built on hope
