Tomorrowland new entrance

Seems like Tron won’t be the stupid decision that others will make since many will want to visit it especially with the new retro vibe at Tomorrowland entrance.

I've been on TRON. It's not great. Not at all. TRON was really meant to be a replacement for Space Mountain not sit next to it.

If they were really looking to go with a retro look, why not bring back retro rides? Forget TRON, bring back the styrofoam snowflakes.

I do not understand this logic.

I haven't been keeping track. Is Tron CONFIRMED, "Confirmed," or is it just wishful thinking?

He's not wrong, they basically serve the same function. Imagine if you put Batman from Six Flags and Silver Bullet from Knott's right next to each other, but to make the newer one different you shot up the lift hill. That's basically what would be happening here.

And honestly, Tron is flashy and very Instagram-able but vastly overhyped. I'd like to think (may be delusional on my part, but bear with me) that there's some sort of depth to the Space Mountain experience, some nuance, mood, mystery, something more to it than people are expecting, despite its minimalism. Tron is exactly what it appears to be on the surface; no surprises, short, and bound to cause more accessibility issues than Space Mountain could ever dream of. And while I don't love everything going on in DL's Tomorrowland, there's no way to add it without permanently changing the feel of the area, and it's not a change that I think modern Disney is capable of pulling off effectively.

I don't remember Tron ever being confirmed or seeing any concept art for it in Tomorrowland. I think it just a bunch of Disney geeks bleating.

Tron has the bike too that seems to be the new thing with roller coasters that even Universal did in Hagrid’s. This was never in Disneyland at all. Nothing wrong with Disneyland getting new technology rides just because other places might have them. Sorry, Tron is different enough from Space Mountain that no one will think they are the same. I still haven’t seen anyone duplicate Space Mountain successfully although they tried and failed.

I just don't understand the opposition for having a Tron ride in Tomorrowland. Tron is a home grown IP and is futurist enough to fit into Tomorrowland. I would love to see a version of Tron as a dark ride similar to Adventure though inner space. Imagine the queue being an arcade with classic games that you can play along the line. (I'd probably never get to the actual ride) You find a hidden passageway where a laser sucks you into the game world via Omnimover/lightcycle.

I want Tron, I just think the Tron ride in Shanghai is not good and particularly bad for Disneyland.

Tron would be OK. But not lightcycles.

Also, before they just start copy+pasting attractions, how about they settle on a cohesive theme and make sure it fits? If we're going '67 throwback, then Tron would be properly out of place.

Honestly, I think an 80's retro vibe Tomorrowland would be awesome.

It would also allow for more Epcot Center attractions to take over.

Basically, I want Tomorrowland to be 1980's Future World + Tron.
Ideal Tomorrowland is the Pizza Planet patio/Space Mountain queue extended throughout the land.

That was always my master plan for Tomorrowland. Give me a smaller version of Future World but updated to today's technology and topics. Horizons 2.0 is the centerpiece for a new Tomorrowland. Give me a new Space pavilion integrated with Space Mountain. Give me Seabase Delta in the lagoon of an active volcano that Tomorrowland uses to provide energy for the land. Underwater cycle coaster pass live fish. The subs as transportation (preshow) for Seabase Delta. Tron dark ride. Outdoor theater. Space restaurant. If they have to add Marvel at least make Horizons 2.0 a Stark Expo pavilion.
