What? I don't see a problem. Do you see a problem?
The original clint eastwood mural was better but the santa fe has always been a resort where the idea was better then the execution

I stayed there recently. The theming is better in person than in photos but the entire hotel is in serious need of a refurb.

I remember reading this in a copy of Disney news (the old magic Kingdom club magazine) when Euro Disneyland opened it was done as a link to the original park. There is also a cleo leaning on the exit sign in homage to the one in the pinoccio House at Disneyland where she is pulling a wrongly placed exit sign
You’re talking about a different restaurant...Au Chalet du Marionette (sp?)...that has Figaro the cat with a thumbs up next to a correctly centered “exit” sign.

They're long gone.... :(

supposedy on pieces of it eas destroyed to add the anchors for the new anels that were added on top of them. Im actually surprised they even broke them like that and the guy isnt wearing a mask.
supposeldy several of those old buildings have abestos and lead in older tiles.
I know they have slowly eliminated most of the contaminates everytime buildings are modified

according to reports that is one of the reason they couldnt save the huge ceramic mural at entrance of DCA. although lead is not allowed to be used in paint it is supposedly still allowed to be used in ceramic glaze. the cost to safely remove and preserve the tiles was high.

Tomorrowland as a whole should be demolished and the project should have a re-do. The following attractions should be left out:

-Buzz
-Nemo
-Star Tours

Autopia and Astro Orbiter should be updated. Add some attractions that actually deal with the future, along with a decent food option.

Unfortunately, I don’t trust Disney in the slightest to actually fix Tomorrowland.

I agree but Autopia should also be demolished as well. i think they can do something great with the subs if they updated the ride system and changed it to smaller more efficient subs

If you changed both you could add something like mysterious island at Tokyo DisneySea which is a great land

I think Autopia is a big waste of space as it is, but I have to wonder how much outrage its removal would incite given it's one of the opening day attractions at Disneyland. A few of its counterparts in the other castle parks (Tokyo, Hong Kong) have already been removed, but those don't have nearly as much history as Disneyland's.

Removing Autopia would be almost as bad as removing the People Mover. It’s a part of DL history and unless a replacement is utterly spectacular then leave it alone. An electric upgrade is all it really needs.

DLP has value resorts with actual theming. They simply chose not to do so at WDW.

Wow! That's a pretty nice hotel. I wish I would have decided to stay cheaper in May to get a better room. The resort we stayed at wasn't very themed (lobby) and the rooms certainly were not- they were the worst rooms we have stayed in for any Disney property over the last 20 years (and cost a significant amount more than most in the states).

I feel the opposite. Autopia should stay, the subs should go. Part of it is bias (Autopia is one of my favorite rides), part of it is history (one of the few remaining opening day Tomorrowland attractions left), but a lot of it is potential. The car of the future is still a possibility, if Disney wants to build it (they most likely don’t).

The ironic thing about Autopia is the way it was copied by nearly every other theme park in the world, making it seem more "ordinary" over the years, but now that all the other parks have demolished their car rides to make room for coasters and DC characters, Autopia is once again a rare opportunity to experience this kind of ride. But it does currently take up a ridiculous amount of space. I'd love a futuristic redo that runs it around Tomorrowland on an elevated People-mover-like track.

BTW, does anyone recall Disney's original reasoning for combining the two unique Autopia rides into one big monster with a less-interesting layout than either of the two originals? They sure didn't gain much usable space. Was it just to cut back on CMs? Or maybe give the CMs the added joy of potentially twice as much exhaust in their workspace?

That's a good idea. Redo it with an alternate people mover track to the enter the buildings. Make it electric and no middle rail. They would follow an embedded wire or be self driving. The driver still has control over the car to a certain point and then the self driving takes over before collision or off the track happens. Allow the cars to pass each other. Make the cars look like they are hovering and give them some speed.

Was it Hotel New York? It's closing next year for its Marvel makeover, its first major renovation since opening in 1992. Long overdue, and why I've never stayed there. Sequoia Lodge and Newport Bay Club are better options for the money you spend.

I would support making Autopia smaller. The space it takes up indeed is gigantic.
