Press release just went out that new Fantasyland (plus Tomorrowland) is opening Sept. 28. Don't have any more details yet.
Fantasyland forest theater is still close for the time being, They area will only be available to limited guests, You need to get an Entry pass in order to get in the area, And yes it's a lottery system like the boarding pass at Disneyland Galaxy's Edge.

Can you explain a bit more? I can't find any info on this on the site, even in Japanese. You're not guaranteed entry to the new land even if you have a park ticket? How do you get an entry pass?

its on the app Namedエントリー受付. they renamed the lottery pass system since the last app update.
Its being prepped for the new area. And no you might not get into it the day you even bought a passport. You have to get through a lottery since it will only be on limited guests, Plus the winners of sponsor preview lottery will be the first to get in from mid october to november. Its already written on the website, The area will be limited to guests.

and yes from September 28 Tokyo Disneyland TICKETS had been sold out.

I imagine Disney probably or will eventually pitch them Galaxy's Edge in that plot and Tokyo will say no; instead, they'll ask for some insane version of Tron with the Monorail going underneath it, a shooting ride with heavy integration of projection mapping, and a huge Blade Runner-esque hovercraft ride where huge miniature sets and projections create the illusion that there is infinite depth above and below you.

One shop, and a themed restaurant where steam is turned into food before your very eyes.
I Imagined the board going "mm...No 🙃"
It's funny how we all have these stories in our mind of the "Tokyo Disney/Oriental company board" like they're snobby and refusing whatever Disney is pitching to them and they just spit out crazy ideas 🤣.
I'm sure it's NOT how it goes, but it cracks me up to see others imagine it like that too.

Well that's lame. Not much point buying a ticket if you don't even have any guarantee you'll be able to access the land at all that day.

They updated the Website and states that Entry pass is a system that would enable for the guests to pick a time to queue for the specific area or attraction(standby pass). It's a different system from Fastpass, DisneySea Will implement this system from September 19,2020.

Which states.
a) Standby pass is a you reserve a specific time to wait for an attraction (Toy story mania and Soaring)
B) Regular standby will not Be available if you don't have a reservation.

It's basically states that from now on Popular attractions will receive this system.

One reminder is that One ride Per attraction system, Means you can't do a loop within those specific attractions.

Same system will be implemented To Minnies style studio, Enchanted tales of Beauty and the Beast and Baymax.

Note: Is that there might be times a guests can not use the Entry even if that guests have obtained that pass.

Do I read this as in your can only ride Soaring once per day in total (for example)? And also once TSM. Or am I misunderstanding this? What about riding it once with FP and once with this system? Is this temporary or will it be permanent? So many questions!

Like other Disney parks around the world, fastpass has been suspended ever since TDR reopened. I guess this entry pass is similar to the Disney Standby Pass system in Shanghai where online reservations are required for certain attractions. Once you've used the initial standby pass you can make another reservation for the same ride, subject to availability.

I really want that Beauty and the Best attraction somewhere closer to me..

Good god, who wouldn't? I'd take that incredible Beast ride over dippy Pandora and anything Star Wars any day. And I'd be most people in the U.S. would.

But it won't happen as long as that greedy fathead Iger is in charge. His disdain for the parks is known. He plays politics with the company's image. And he thinks U.S. parkgoers are easy-to-please rubes. He builds needless towers and hotels for a park (WDW) that desperately needs upgrades and fixes and new attractions that aren't based on his moronic acquisitions. Why go to an overpriced WDW hotel when the parks, as they are now, hardly merit that expense?

Really TICKS ME OFF to see the wonders being built in Japan while in WDW, the yeti remains broken, among other outrages. Thank goodness Iger's spendthrift ways have been exposed during this pandemic, and that he's also getting his butt kicked over controversies involving Mulan (oh Song of the South is so racist but working with China and its Muslim concentration camps is a-okay.) What a complete reprobate he is. It's pretty sad that a foreign company builds attractions that are more pure-Disney than any American park. What a disgrace.

Yes, One ride per guest per day on certain attractions, General standby queues will not be available on those standby pass acquired locations.
Its going to be trend here in Tokyo.

The main bottleneck that has been happening here is that Soaring, Toy Story mania has been extremely popular since parks re-opened, Soaring had wait times of 100 Mins. Yes that's with social distancing and limited guests numbers, Yes the parks are only available for Online reservations.

Tokyo Disney has the same problem as WDW... not enough to do and too many guests. At least TDL offers a vastly superior experience in almost all ways.

Thanks for the clarification SweetDuffy! On my last trip, I rode twice Soaring, once with FP & once with 100min queue on standby (with the line already overflowing a bit), and although the dispatch times are probably slower due to Covid measures, I can't imagine how they can physically distance people worth 100min of queue! (Although admittedly, even in pre-corona times, Japanese people had a good amount of personal space in that nice outdoor queue)
