Tokyo Disney has cracked down on Disney Vlogging, would you want the US parks to follow suit?

To illustrate average guests ignorance/stupidity, before the crack down on selfie sticks BTM would average 4 E stops a day because of someone using a stick on the ride.

Selfie sticks. On a rollercoaster.
The selfie sticks were awful. So happy when that ended.
It doesn’t take a genius to imagine what would happen if someone was hit in the eye by a phone dropped from a guest in front.
Just saying with all the people who have visited Disney since cell phones became a thing, you'd think it would be evident if it was a problem. Probably has something to do with the fact that most Disney attractions aren't that intense. If it became an issue, maybe they should just adjust policy on things like Space Mountain, GotG, RnR and such.

I do think the potential of losing one's cell phone (for good if it breaks) is high motivation already.

It should be all attractions especially roller coasters. It's not the filming that bugs me but the safety of it.
oh i dont care if they are injured or drop their personal property. Just dont ruin the rides for the other people. You could get hit by a flying cell phone but the chances are slim. But seeing a vlogger acting silly and talking while recording the entire time on big thunder mountain is annoying

I do care and it has nothing to do with annoying other guests. I don't want a cell phone hitting me in the head thanks.

Safety should be paramount but that annoying screen on someone's phone or camera is really distracting and annoying.. One obviously more important than the other but they should definitely consider the full guest experience mean something.
Dark rides arent the same with a huge glowing square.

Heaven forbid someone is recording everything on their IPAD...... those people just need to be pushed out of the vehicle

I am sure its happened.. but with the 1000s of loose items how often has anyone actually been hit with anything. Maybe a hat. I mean it could happen, just ask fabio.

That being said, all jokes aside.. yes a camera selfie stick etc could cause permanent blindness, a broken orbital bone, a broken nose and a litany of other injuries. And even with low probability once is too much.

There is a greater chance the person filming has the best chance of injury, loss of property.

Look at the many news reports from just this summer of people being hit with phones on coasters at different parks across the country. It may not happen at Disney much as they aren't intense enough for it to happen but it does happen.

Many of you don't understand as you probably don't visit other parks much to understand. The fact that Disney doesn't take it seriously is an issue. Look at Universal and how they handle it.

You are correct, I hadnt heard of any of these and i read way too many news reports. Any examples so that I can educate myself.

BTW if this sounds snarky, believe me that is not my intent. I just dont like not knowing things.

There is none that pertains to Disney but it happens quite a bit at other parks. Some a cracking down a lot. Cedar Fair parks will kick people out for having their phones out.

The problem comes from people don't think much of it.

Man, now I have to add this to my list of fears for WDW trips. I never even thought about being hit in the head by a phone! I always make sure all our stuff is secured before we even go on Soarin!

Fears:
1. Sinkholes
2. Phones

It should be the same like other parks. No phones or cameras out while riding attractions.
Vloggers follow rules on their own or otherwise lose that privilage. Do you think we would have the ability to historically see complete rides if it wasn't for them. I don't see where they bother other guests at all. They don't use lights or block anyone's view. Much ado about nothing. Regular tourists are the ones that break all those rules of photography and manners.

I've heard of them happening and that is why selfie stick's had been banned from the parks.
It's not just selfie sticks that's a problem. These incidents were from people using just their phones with no selfie stick.

Maybe in the past you wouldn't have seen ride throughs but now majority of parks put their own out so guests don't feel the need to have their phones out.
