Tokyo Disney has cracked down on Disney Vlogging, would you want the US parks to follow suit?

Please refrain from using mobile phones in attractions, show areas and other places where you may inconvenience other Guests.

Refrain from:

Commercial photography or other activity

Commercial activities (exclusive of those permitted by the Company).

Public transmission or recording of any kind that may inconvenience other Guests

The use of unipods, tripods, selfie sticks or other such equipment (hand-size grip attachments excluded) when taking photos or videos.

To me this would be a dream come true. Disney vlogging was withstandable until IRL streaming came along imo

If someone wants to walk around the park outside talking to themselves, fine, whatever. What Disney needs to crack down on is ALL guests using a flash, talking, keeping their phone/tablet screen on... When on dark rides. that was a problem before vlogging and will continue to be because people are selfish and Disney doesn't really care about that kind of stuff.

WDW has similar rules. I've copied-and-pasted your TDR rules with WDW's under it.

Please refrain from using mobile phones in attractions, show areas and other places where you may inconvenience other Guests.
While WDW does have "Guest Courtesy and Attire Policies", this isn't one of them.
Refrain from:
Commercial photography or other activity
WDW Prohibited Activity: Photography, videotaping or recording of any kind, or otherwise engaging in any activity, for unapproved commercial purposes.
Commercial activities (exclusive of those permitted by the Company).
WDW Prohibited Activity: Unauthorized solicitations of any kind, whether commercial, religious, educational or otherwise, or conducting any unauthorized commercial activities, including solicitations of money or other contributions or donations.
Public transmission or recording of any kind that may inconvenience other Guests
WDW Prohibited Activity (same as above): Photography, videotaping or recording of any kind, or otherwise engaging in any activity, for unapproved commercial purposes.
The use of unipods, tripods, selfie sticks or other such equipment (hand-size grip attachments excluded) when taking photos or videos.
WDW Prohibited Items
  • Selfie sticks, hand-held extension poles for cameras or mobile devices, flags and banners are not allowed in any theme park, water park or Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser.
  • Tripods or monopod stands that cannot fit inside a standard backpack or that extend over 6’ (182 cm) are not allowed in theme parks, water parks, Disney Springs, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser or ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

I fully expect something like this to be enforced eventually. I think they're probably exploring their own options when it comes to streaming through their own platform.. They can hand pick their hosts, break news, and give out accurate information.. Once more live streaming events come to Disney+ I would expect that will roll out at some point.

It should be the same like other parks. No phones or cameras out while riding attractions.

I dont really care.
  • I dont like the people that accost guests (doing trivia, asking questions etc while recording it) LEAVE ME ALONE
  • I think all video recording without permit should be banned and riders kicked off on dark rides (roller coasters outdoor attractions i dont care), same as taking photos on dark rides. The lighted screen forgetting about the ongoing commentary is ruining it for others. Disney should make getting a permit easy and allow people like @marni1971 have their own ride vehicle as long as they show that they are doing it for documentation purposes and its a rare occurrence. We have to memoralize these rides in case they are ever removed after all.
As long as they keep to themselves keep their equipment as minimalistic as possible, I dont mind at all. But talking on dark rides, bright screens, and talking to guests for the intent of your channel should be banned.

I really hope eventually Disney will go through with special ride vehicles or gimbals that allow them to fully document rides (they did a few things during covid) where its like really riding the vehicle in 4 or 8k with perfect audio. Not to be released but to be saved so that if a ride is ever removed that we can then experience them again. How great would it be to go to youtube or even disney plus and see the original matterhorn ride, or if you had wings, with perfect audio and perfect video.

Ive never been inconvenienced by a vlogger filming. But I have been inconvenienced by plenty of rude guests who seem to think tghey need to record, document every thing they do and feel they are the only one wanting to enjoy the experience. I'd rather Disney crack down on the guests before they target the small percentage of vloggers. When I have encountered the few Ive run into they have been very respectful, unlike the ordinary guest.

It should be all attractions especially roller coasters. It's not the filming that bugs me but the safety of it.

Safety should be paramount but that annoying screen on someone's phone or camera is really distracting and annoying.. One obviously more important than the other but they should definitely consider the full guest experience mean something.

Have I missed reports of all the cell phone injuries on rides?
Probably doesnt happen often but that doesn't mean Disney shouldn't attempt to stop any chances of it happening.. Phones and recording are banned on alot of Universal attractions for good reason.. Its about more than injuries though.. I can't remember the last time I have been on pirates and not had someone in front of me with a camera screen lit up... That's rude and not necessary.

Not at Disney but it happens more then you would think.

That's just one of many this summer. It's why Cedar Point was stopping rides if people had their phones out. A lot times they kicked people out for having their phones out.
