They still have teh tapanaki tables too right? did they change how they look?

Also.. does the newer modern japan dining room serve the same type of rice and grilled meats dinner at the tapanki rooms?

I don't mean to be a wet blanket, but aren't the prices kinda high as compared to the pricing of the previous resturant. Most obvious is the near equal pricing of lunch and dinner. In most resturants lunch was always the less expensive of the two meals. I'm sure the decor is great and the food menus look appetizing. The one thing which may turn me off might just be the price.

Does someone have a menu of the Sushi? & wonder if they also have like, Soy Paper aswell as Seaweed?`

Right now it doesn't look like they have a large selection of sushi. Though I'm hoping this isn't the case for when we dine there in Dec. and they simply aren't listing all of the selections (maybe this is an opening menu that will be expanded upon as the restuarant gets moving along). But so far this is what I found earlier today.

Are they still doing the VIP illum viewings for the displaced diners, or is that over? How much space did/does this take up in the WS Plaza?

I can't wait! We have reservations for December.
I do have a question! My son only eats chicken nuggets and pizza - are we allowed to get that food and take it in there for him?
Thanks:veryconfu

Um, chicken nuggets are not Japanese, I would hope not. Why bother going to these restaurants if everyone isn't going to try something new and different.

When I was a kid, Epcot was the first time I tried Japanese, German, French, and some different Chinese foods. The environment lends itself to new experiences and creativity. Leave the fried garbage for the Magic Kingdom.

I was asking if we could bring other food in. My son has aspergers and we are lucky he eats anything when we are not home! Of course I want him to try new things but I don't want a unwanted scene at a restuarant. Believe my other four kids would not get away with this, but we have to be accommadating if we want a nice vacation! Please try not to be judgemental until you have a child with special needs! And I don't think the rest of the family should be punished and not enjoy new experiences!

By the way I am not upset with your response, I am use to it, but please try to be a little more understanding with children. You don't know what is going on! Thanks:)

Is this the only restaurant in the world showcase that is very modern in style? I was under the impression that the original concept for each country in the WS was that each was set to a specific period of that country.

While it is a beautiful sleek looking space, I was under the impression that Japan was styled after some far earlier century like 12th or 14th and not 20th century Tokyo.

I would check with the resturant and see what their kids menue looks like. I don't know about Chicken nuggets, but most places in the WS have familure kid food for picky eaters. I have found that the places at Disney can be very helpful if you ask.

 Ooops, I guess it does say that. I hadn't given the Tokyo Dining menu a look over because I was only interested in the Teppan Edo menu. But now I'm sure I'll be able to enjoy a good selection of sushi. Thanks for pointing that out to me. :)

Hm, is there anywhere that that Sushi Menu is that I can view it? Also, any news on Soy Paper or not? :P

The thing is, if you go to a regular sushi restaraunt, they have a huge selection of different named Rolls. Disney has the possibility to do whatever they want, the possiblities are endless!

I was there for opening night (quite by accident). The colors are very vibrant in both areas of the restaurant, I was glad to have my camera with me. Our chef was "Bob from Atlantic City" (I don't really know his real name, as he had forgotten his name tag and was given someone elses). :)

Hello,

I probably wouldn't have said anything if I knew some situation led to the need for a specific menu need. However, I know when I post, I generally state that I'm blind because I'll ask questions that would otherwise sound simply crazy if not prefaced. I guarantee you I wouldn't have thought about that twice if I had known.

But for others, don't even think about it. Especially while kids are young and easily influenced. You've got to set a good example to have diverse eaters now, or they'll grow up comparing restaurants based on who has the best burger. That's ok when its part of a diverse appetite, but imagine if the choice is always between the 5 or 6 chain restaurants that serve a bland American style meal. Yeah, that's fine once in a while, but keep an open mind.

I personally know way too many people that say things like "yuck, Ty food" or "Indian, isn't that just curry?" Yeah, these people exist, and based on total misconception and a lack of adventurous spirit they simply ignore the yummy treasures of the world.
