To settle my anxiety!

I'm pretty sure that my family/co-workers are completely tired of hearing me talk about my upcoming trip so I'm going to use a pre-trip report to express my excitement. :sohappy: I just finished my last trip report I think last week (late) and am now doing this one (early). I was complaining one day about wanting to go shopping so bad but not having money to do so and my mother said this to me "Well, if you didn't go to Disney every 7 months you would have money to go shopping" :hammer:That is the most absurd concept I have ever heard. And she calls herself a Disney lover. A girl at work keeps asking me why we want to go again this year since we already went and "don't you get bored?" Also another foreign concept. They are speaking languages I don't understand. She also calls it Disneyland which irks me to no end . So anyway I am going to use this pre-trip report to express my frustrations, excitement, and anxiety about my upcoming trip. Feel free to read, or if you aren't interested, you don't have to. I just need to get this out without driving everyone else bonkers :p.

Day 1: Will be departure day. I am getting off of work at noon and that will give me time to get home and get some last minute things together before picking my son up from school at 2:45. My bff is meeting us at my house, so we can take off. We head to St. Louis (about 2 hours away) and plan on eating dinner at one of our faves (The Spaghetti Factory) before checking in to the airport Marriott for the night. My son is a pool freak, so we'll spend a little time there before hitting the sack.

Day 2: Official first day. Our flight departs at 8:30am. We will check in early so we can get some breakfast in the terminal. And wait. Waiting is the worst. Our flight lands in Orlando around 11:50. We are using the Magical Express and hopefully things will go smoothly and we can be to the Wilderness Lodge around 1-2pm. We're going to hang out there for a while, until we go to Epcot for our ADR at Garden Grill.

Day 3: Early breakfast at Chef Mickey's. We're going to get to MK by rope drop and spend the morning there, eating lunch at the glorious Cosmic Ray's. I desperately want to sit in the room by Sonny, as I have never gotten to. After an early ADR at the Biergarten, the evening will be spent at HS for Fantasmic and then EMH at MK.

Day 4: Morning EMH at AK. Lunch at Flame Tree BBQ. This is the only time the whole trip we will be spending there, so we are going to try to do EE like 3 times with a safari, Primeval Whirl, Lion King, and maybe Kali mixed in. This is all we really want to do. Evening will be spent at Epcot, ADR at Le Cellier. Maybe EMH at HS.

Day 5: Morning EMH at Epcot. Lunch at Yorkshire Co. Fish Shop. Dinner ADR is at Ohana. Going to TRY to get to HS to watch the Osborne lights, before going back to MK for MVMCP. We will spend the evening there. (And are so super excited for our first MVMCP!) :xmas:

Day 6: Early ADR for Crystal Palace. Will spend morning at MK, but will sadly have to leave at noon . Our flight back home is at 3:40. We will be back in St. Louis at 4:45.

It is going to be a fairly quick trip, but tons of fun. Free dining made it possible for me to swing the WL which I have dreamed of staying at since I saw it on Great Hotels. (LOVE Samantha Brown!) This trip is a COMPLETE surprise to my 7yo. Not planning on telling him at all, just letting him figure it out when we land in Orlando. Planning on ordering a Mickey cake and something from Disneyflorist to have in our room when we get there, and possibly doing the pirate makeover at MK. I have never been so excited about a vacation! :sohappy:

So, we did a little changing in the itinerary of our trip, which I am VERY excited about. Used the room only discount, and were able to get a night at Pop Century on the night we were originally supposed to stay in St. Louis, (for over $20 cheaper I might add!) and changed our flights for around $40. We will be flying out Friday evening instead, and will be able to wake up Saturday morning in Disney instead of St. Louis!!! :sohappy: We won't have tickets or dining plan that first night, but since our flight won't land til after 8pm, I don't think that will really matter. This will then add a whole other half of a day to our Disney trip, as we will already be there! I am so so excited! And don't know why I didn't think of this before! I have been assured that switching resorts won't be a big deal, and if we have to take a cab oh well. 38 days til we're on our way to the World!!!!! :sohappy::sohappy::sohappy:

Glad to see someone else likes the Garden Grill. I can't have a trip without it.

My wife is more amused with my obsessive Disney-itis. Though I need to stop telling my co-workers all about it. Some of them are definitely getting annoyed. :lookaroun

I leave on Nov. 4th, so I'll be sure to pop back in and tell you how the crowds/weather is.

I hit the wall today. 55 days before landing in Disney. It happens everytime pre-vacation, just happened a little earlier this time. There come a time before every vacation where I think "the only thing that will get me through this day is that I will be in Disney in (insert countdown number here) days." Usually it'sonly a month-couple weeks before but today it happened. I blame it on my horribly stressful job of trying to single-handedly keeping the area's most popular doctor's practice afloat (our next available appointment is in January I believe) and dealing with the area's most demanding patients. (And the fact that the Dr. I work for is the only Dr. left in the practice right now until mid-October). Anyway sorry for the rant session. I guess I can be thankful that I have job security...as noone is insane enough to want to do my job . So anyway. 55 days and I will be in Epcot!!! :sohappy:

I'm a nurse at a very busy sub acute rehab...I feel your pain, lol.

I am also going in November (12-17th) at POP as well. And we are bringing my husbands kiddos and our son who is 14 months old. His kids have never been to Disney and are DYING and I mean dying to go to Disney. We aren't telling them either. We are just picking them up from school and going to the airport and then to Disney and wait for them to figure it out. I can't wait I am going to record every second of their reactions. My mom and brother are reluctantly coming (can you believe I said RELUCTANTLY?!). We (her, my brother, my husband, son and I) were just there in March so they think it is too soon but they don't want to miss out on going with the kids.

Anyway, enough of my ongoing blabber. Last thing; prior to meeting me my husband had never been to Disney. I introduced him to WDW and now he is a total Disney nut. Today he came home for lunch and as he was leaving he asked what was for dinner and then said "Can we talk about Disney all through dinner?" and I was like "YES! I married the right man!"

LOL. Have a great time! Maybe see you there!

It sounds like you are stretching your budget to make this trip happen. You were just there 7 months ago. Is it really that important to go again so soon that you are willing to stress the family finances?

Yes. As long as we have bills paid and food to eat, the frivolous extras (such as me shopping for myself) can be put on the back burner so I can give my son as much fun at Disney that I can. It doesn't bother me, just seems to bother other people.

I'm glad to hear that you turned him into a Disney nut! My b/f has never been to the World and I am hoping to take him soon! He will absolutely love it, as he is a big kid at heart :D I just wish he could go this time, but work just doesn't agree...

 exactly! I don't understand why people find it so hard to believe we love to spend so much time in the place that was nicknamed so many years ago "the happiest place on earth"?! Duh! No brainer!

ps you realize in 38 days we will be about to land in Orlando?! :sohappy:

So I am 26 days away from my vacation! :sohappy: This is about the time I start getting frantic, getting random things together, finalizing plans, getting super excited, etc. This time is a LITTLE bit different though! I looked at a house last Monday, again on Tuesday, and accepted a FANTASTIC rental offer on Wednesday! Which is exciting and all of that, but found out yesterday I MOVE NEXT WEEK!!! So this means, I am trying to gather boxes, pack up all the stuff I have accumulated over the years (which is a lot more than I realized), and collect furniture/appliances that I need to fill a 3 bedroom house! Oh yeah, and prepare for a Disney vacation at the same time :hammer: This is all very exciting! I am also just under a LITTLE bit of stress :brick: I have realized that I have a lot of stuff, and nothing I really really need (i.e. a refrigerator) as they are taking it with them. And before you ask, NO I could not give up this deal for this beautiful 3 BR house in one of the best neighborhoods in town for a ridiculously fantastic rent. So, for the next few weeks, I'll just be super busy and :p:eek: :ROFLOL:Anyway, just had to share!!!

I had the same thing happen one month before I was getting married. I had an awesome opportunity for an apartment...so I moved while planning a wedding and a two week honeymoon. It all worked out.
Good luck, it will all be worth it in the end.
