Now that you know who we are... allow me to take you back to last September...

We were booking our bounce-back for September 2017 - hoping to avoid F&W and planning for the girls and I to come down 2 days early.

Hope had convinced Ross to book 1 night at AoA and the remainder at POR. The plan was that the girls and I would arrive on the 11th spend 1 night at AOA, move to POR on the 12th and then Ross would join us on the 13th. However, we would get a wrench thrown in that plan when the CM told Ross that in order to receive the bounce back for free dinning, we would have to arrive no later than September 9th! Oh and P.S. – F&W was starting in late August!!

Due to Ross’ job – there was no way he could leave before the 13th – he can’t leave his stores until after the Labor Day/ back to school rush is done. What he did next is still blowing my mind away. He booked it! So the bad news is Hope will not get to stay at AoA this time… but the unbelievable, utterly awesome news is that we are going from September 9th – September 23rd!!! Ummm… can you say 2 weeks in Disney?!!!!

We are actually leaving on the 8th because Ross is once again hysterical that we will miss our flight. Since we got a better deal on a flight out of Newark, we are booked to stay at a Park, Sleep & Fly Place close to the airport. I am trying to do my best to cancel it.

If I am correct, I think we are going to be visiting the same time as @Ciara, @lostpro9het , @Disneydreamer23, @MotherofaPrincessLover, and of course, @blgauger (who I guess technically doesn’t “visit” anymore.) So please, if anyone sees us – say hi to us!

So with 39 days to go... let pre-trip countdown begin!!

We are in our room and probably staying put until tomorrow. We were in the lobby from around 9-12 noon today. They had characters, activities and the arcade was set to free play. They will continue to have the activities and a limited hot food selection until 7PM tonight at which point we are asked to return and remain in our rooms until we are told it is safe. Resort channel 3 keeps us updated.

I'm not sure if you've heard about Disney hurricane ride outs for when/if (it hasn't been announced yet but everyone I know is kind of on an unofficial standby but they work with FEMA to make park hours decisions, I believe) they close the parks due to incliment weather, but it's definitely something to think about if you've been trapped in the room! If the coast is clear enough to get out of your room and into the lobby they dispatch characters & have activities in the lobby for entertainment usually. I have lots of old friends that rode out the hurricane last year at the Polynesian and they kept the lobby staffed all night with emergency preparedness. I totally understand feeling safe at Disney! They have lots of safety precautions put into place. Stay safe and have fun!

Thanks so much! If you hadn't posted, I'm not sure we would have ventured out this morning! We were able to enjoy activities in the main building until around 1:00PM.

Just saw on Facebook that Disney announced some of their closures in preparation for the hurricane and had to check your plans to make sure they wouldn't affect you! (You're good so far!) Wishing you a safe trip down tomorrow!

Also, did you ever find a new princess wardrobe???

Yes - I think we only have to switch our Monday plans to Tuesday. Disney is being great about everything!

Yes - I did manage to get 2 dresses to add to her collection.

So glad you made it! I hope you are able to have a great time in spite of Irma. BTW, Hope is absolutely adorable and I have to tell you the resemblance between her and my niece on my husband's side of the family is uncanny.
View attachment 227664 Here she is with my daughter Maddie. Is it just me, or could they be twins:)?

WOW - that's crazy! They say everybody has a twin - well I guess Hope found hers!!!
