To go or not to go

I am defently in the "go" boat. When my hubby and I started going we were in grad school and couldn't aford it (we could pay the bills fine, but it came out of savings and we were both in need of "real" jobs.) I am so glad we went. Those were the most magical times for us.

Stay on property, that makes a world of differnce. However you can pay a variety of prices for onsite, as it is just you, don't spend much on the room (think AS or Mod resort with a good code.) Save a Delux for when you get out of grad school!!!! (there is another reason to celeabreate!)

As far as going alone, that has more to do with how you feel when you are alone. Personally, I wouldn't. It means too much to be there with people I love (my hubby and now daugther.) If there is someone special you would like to share with this, consider that. However if there isn't it might be more fun to be alone then with someone who will bring you down or you have to worry about their enjoyment instead of yours. I like the idea of setting up some meeting with local WDWmagic members.

Have a great time, don't let other peoples plans for your ditcate your decsion. There may be a comprimse that works, but for me it comes down to there is no other place I would rather spend the money.

P.S. Good Luck in grad school, what are you going for?

I'll be going for a master's in computer science. (Funny thing is I don't have a bachelor's in computer science, hehe.)

As for shortening the trip, I have thought about that. That could be an option, though when I started saving for a trip, I envisioned having enough time to experience as much as I could.

As for a date, I think the only time I can go is June - July, and possibly the first week of August. I know I'll die in the summer heat, but I have no other choice. Going during the school year is a no-no. As for Christmas break, I'd miss all the great night shows. Is anyone planning to go during the summer?

As for going alone, I still don't know. I can do it alone, but I'm thinking the loneliness is evenutally gonna get to me. But if I can find some company down there, it won't be so bad.

I don't think I'll make a decision yet. I think I'll need a little more time to see how things work out. Thanks everyone! :)

Well, I've thought it through and I've made my decision...
Let's just say today I went to the Disney Store and bought the official WDW guide. ;)

The new Fairytale package is simply too good to pass up. I'll get an even longer trip than originally planned and save enough money so that I can actually dine out and not eat turkey legs all week. Actually, with such a deal, I toyed with the notion of going deluxe! But I should probably stay with the moderates. This trip will most likely take place in mid-late July, anyone going then?

I remember when I left WDW, I promised to return in two years. Looks like that's a promise I'm gonna keep. Now, I just have to do some planning (which I did zero of last time) and book the trip. :)

You say you have enough for a week in a resort. Thats AWESOME! but why dont you think about just staying 4 or 5 days...a short week wont deplete all of your funds. Also in the matter of going alone, its not an ENTIRE week of alone-ness, its just an extra long "weekend"

You have saved this money with the intent on using it to go to wdw, and your graduating soon. You deserve a reward!
HECK even if you WERENT graduating soon you deserve a reward for being able to save all of that money without touching it!! hehe

let me know whatcha think

couldn't have said it better myself! I agree! Go for it! :sohappy:

And look at it this way:

You were able to save enough for a week-long (or longer) Walt Disney World trip in two years. While in college. You're better at saving money than most people ever will be. Just start saving again when you get back, and you'll have your "rainy day or Walt Disney World trip, whichever comes first" fund back up to huge in no time!

Have a great trip, and remember to talk to the Cast Members and other Guests! They'll provide hours of amusement themselves!
