Not to get on my high horse, but I've noticed alot of fighting and bickering lately. I'm not singling anyone out, hey even veteran members get into "spats" from time to time.

Just be aware of fellow members. Whether they are NEW to WDWMagic, the internet, discussion groups, etc. give people some "slack".

Some people are better at expressing their opinions than othes. Also, don't get offended so easily. It is very easy to misinterpret what someone types.

If you are offended or don't like what someone said, remember that is their opinion. You can take the "high road" and ignore it or Report the post to a Moderator. This will avoid unneccessary fighting within the posts and will make it a more enjoyable environment for everyone. :sohappy:

Most of the fights or disagreements start because people do not yet know one another and they "style" or "humor" so it is easy to get confused.

If in doubt, add a :) or  to your post so people understand you have good intentions and you don't mean to "flame" or "insult" them.

Over time you will get to know and understand other members better and have at your fingertips an invaluable resource when it comes to WDW. This site is the premier source for WDW information IMHO.

Who knows, you could be the next person who comes to one of the WDWMagic MEETS (where various members get together at the parks).

Have fun everyone and KEEP POSTING :D

I appreciate this post because people on here have been hard on me lately and been giving me negative reputation points :fork: . I'm just trying to have fun like everyone else, I am a hunter, a republican(Walt was republican), and an American(proud of it) :D , but I am also a Disney fan and thats all we should care about on this board. These boards are for having fun and gaining knowledge. Everyone needs to smile and lighten up! :p   :sohappy:

It's all Judd's fault. That guy gets in the middle of all these Roy vs Eisner threads and goofs around. He even has the cajones to poke at the Mike Moore threads as some kind of elephant loving right wing weirdo. You may be best served to kick this guy in the face next time you run into him. I try to ignore him, but he keeps humming and humming until I just have to aknowledge his presence. I don't know, between the humming and the odor, just which is worse.

Good topic though. God's speed on your crusade and long live Disney

Oh, and never mind that four letter part of my sig. Don't know how that got there :xmas:

I feel like because I have very few posts I get attacked a lot. I put the :sohappy: :animwink:  etc in my posts all the time and one time I replied and posted my opinion about Britney Spears I got attacked by some sarcastic person who I quoted but directed my point to everybody, just using that member's post as a starting point in my opinion. I think its attack on the few post people myself.

I try to be nice. I just correct like a lot of others do around here. I just tend to put a little sarcasm into my posts (and I know I'm not the first one or last one) and it gets taken the wrong way. I do like many around here do and politely give advice to new members so they don't go the same route as the ones who have been banned, and that gets taken the wrong way as well. I guess I should apologize, so sorry to those of you I offended. Even though there was nothing wrong with my posts but I'm a big sucker for apologizing without needing to. :(

KevinPage, smilies like  and such definitely would help but you tend to believe the emotions behind :fork: so when you put a bunch of them in your post, that person doesn't really come out in the best light. But whatever. I'll :zipit: now.

Don´t let that discourage you from posting. Don´t take it personal... soon you will learn that sometimes it´s better to remain silent when it comes to some topics... like Britney Spears! (If you don´t believe me, do a search of her name) ;)

Kevin, thanks for this thread, your post was very classy. :king:

The longer you are around the more you will be able to gauge people's personalities. I know who I can joke around with, insult (in a lighthearted way as a joke) and who I can't. I try to take the positive angle when I post. If I don't know the answer I try to find it. If I'm wrong I correct myself. If I'm corrected by another member, I thank them. If I hurt someone's feelings or , I apologize. We all have bad days and I make allowances for that.

If you continually make negative posts or attack another member I'll ask you to stop. If you continue expect a strongly worded PM. Continue & I'll notify the moderator.(I take no pleasure in that & have only had to do so a handful of times)

I think it comes down to how you say something more than what you say.

**not targeting anyone in particular with this post, just stating my philosophy**

Good post, KP

I think we've all felt "attacked" at one point or another- it's just the result of having our opinions out there for hundreds of people to read. With a group this large, not everyone is going to agree. And it's not realistic to post anything without assuming somebody is going to respond.

I don't necessarily think that people are picking on those who have less posts, but I do think that those of us with MORE posts have established ourselves in particular ways, and most of what we say is probably pretty predictable. Does that make any sense? By now, most people here are familiar with my posting style because I have been here for a couple of years and during that time I have run my mouth quite a bit. So what I post won't catch someone's eye the way that a newer person's post will. Once you're "figured out" you're able to fade a bit more into the background.

Or maybe I am talking out of my butt again
