But the data presented here is an observation, not a suggestion. If your model of 'the norm' is true about what people REALLY do (and that's what makes it the NORM)... it fails when applied to her real world observation.

The logic of 'its the norm' as defined by actual behavior... fails this real world test.
Fair enough. "Norm" is a bad word. Let's say "etiquette." Most people probably pick their noses, that doesn't mean it's something you should do.

Good Grief ! It's the fascinating saga of clean sheets and water pitchers at thirty paces.
Just to throw in a bit of practical thinking, wouldn't it be better to have a survey that asks the forum readers if they tip housekeeping at the Disney hotels., YES or NO., rather than if they tip daily or at end of stay? You might then get a more accurate percentage of those that tip rather than speculation or opinion. Or would that spoil all the fun?.
