Tinkerbell, Rapunzel?

Working in WDW, you hear a lot of buzz about new characters and movies. So here's two of the things I've heard, and I want your opinion (or if anyone knows definites)

1) Where 20k Leagues used to be, they are designing a new area. It'll be a walk through where props get larger, making people feel like they're getting smaller. At the end of the walk through, they'll be greeted by TINKERBELL! Tinkerbell will be in a lantern like she was in the movie, to make sure she doesn't sprinkle pixie dust on people or that she won't try to fly off to hurt the Wendy Bird again.

2) A new princess movie is coming out (that has been confirmed- look on http://www.imdb.com) called "Rapunzel Unbraided". From some of the things I've heard about this, Rapunzel will be about 5 feet tall for reasons not explained (I think I know why, but I don't want to say them, in case I'm completely, 100% wrong)

So we shrink down as we meander through the area - like Alice falling down the rabbit hole, hmm? That would help explain to kids why Tinkerbell is so "lifesized," I suppose.

Thanks for sharing what you've heard. Some of us (myself included) have hopes for an E-ticket in that prime real estate, but every change tells me the powers that be have decided that every new attraction at the Magic Kingdom must appeal to six year olds. **sigh**

Oh well.

How about a Tinker Bell circle-vision, 3-d attraction?

...Just a suggestion :D

Kinda weird. I don't think it's likely since the 100 acre woods are going in there and to pull the two together seems strange. Personally I'd like to see a Lion King ride-I don't know how they could do it but its my favorite movie and I feel like its left out of the Disney theme park experience.

Um...yeah...that would be called Festival of the Lion King.

And they aren't putting 100 Acre Woods there. 100 Acre Woods is in Toontown. Believe me, I work there once in a while.

Um, no. The 100 Acre Woods are being built on the former site of 20,000 Leagues, and the entrance will be in Fantasyland across from Pooh.

well...

personally, i think meet and greets are getting to common. i like the fun and suspense when you would try to find your favorite characters. sure it's great for the big ones, especially mickey, but...

besides... i'd really like a new attraction in MK. it's rare that prime real estate liek that would open up, they could put it to better use than a play ground or meet'n'greet.

I agree on the Meet-n-Greets! Too many of them and not fun anymore. I'm sure Disney implemented them to gain their always needed control over them - and it probably helps more people see them, but I remember as a kid just walking around the parks and spotting some character just hanging out. We got some of the best candid shots with them this way. Sometimes we'd have characters all to ourselves, back in some little nook in EPCOT, or where ever. Having a line, and pre-arranged times just takes all the fun out of it. It's like being a robot, walking from one character to another, standing in line, clicking the camera....start all over.

As for the rumors - the first one sounds unlikely, since the 100 Acre thing is indeed going in (we've had that confirmed from MANY sources), but the second one could be true. I didn't know Disney had rights, or interest in Rapunzel - weird.

Where did you hear these? Just wondering! :animwink:

Meet and greets are attractions which should be used to fill awkward spaces while better, permanent attractions are planned and built.

- I quite agree. Magic Kingdom needs to "grow up" a bit (but still retain the Magic)

Could a certain Kristen Chenoweth have something to do with this? :animwink: :lookaroun :animwink:

Nope. Kristen Chenoweth has nothing to do with it. It involves something that Eisner is stingy about. Money! Once again, though, I would like to state that I don't know if that is the reason.

i agree. MK needs a new attraction... but, MK has PLENTY of room to expand without waiting on 'prime real estate' to open up. if they wanted to build several attractions, e-tickets on down the list.. they could, without uprooting anything but trees... :)

as far as the tink meet and greet... i think that is an EXCELLENT IDEA! Have pixie dust sprinkled on you (very fine water misters) and as you start walking down the hallway, things start to grow around you, to feel like you are shrinking to tink's size... then when you saw her, it would be AWESOME! I can see the large thimbles, lantern, and spool of thread now! WHAT A GREAT IDEA... whether it happens or not, it's still a great way to meet tink!

I like the Tinkerbell idea alot, especially if it's themed nicely.

I wonder if Disney is waiting to see how Rapunzel does in the box office to base an attraction around it, since it will fit into the Fantasyland theme quite well.

I'd rather not wait and have them come up with an original E ticket idea that is based on the Disney characters though.

Could this Tinkerbell meet n greet be located at the hold skyway building across from Peter Pan?

I realy like the idea of this one, it sounds like there is an actual theme as opposed to here is the former entrance to a great dark ride [20k] and look now there are characters.
