Time for Honey I shrunk the Audience to go?

I was thinking this the other day when I visited. It's neither a classic, nor a knock your socks off new technology. And it's been there for over 12 years now, 4 years longer than it's very expensive predecessor, Captain EO. Everytime I venture to that corner of the park, it's just dead. Needs some new life.

I wouldn't think a replacement would be all that expensive to make since they could just make another film and use the same theatre. Just a thought...

I defenetly think its time to look at taking this one out. The movie its based on is hardly well known enough anymore for many younger kids to recognize. It was defenetly a fun attraction years ago, but with the advancements in 3D shows and after so many repeat visits, the effects wear off.

If they ever plan to rehabilitate the Imagination pavillion in the near future, I would hope they think about taking the theater out for an expanded ride, or at least putting in a new film.

You couldn't be more right. Honey I Shrunk the Audience is an alright attraction.. I thought it was great about 8 to 10 years ago. I figured, if you haven't seen it yet, you're waiting too long to take a trip to Disney World.

Some movies from the 90s are memorable. While Honey I Shrunk the Kids was a great movie for its time, not many people know what its about or the characters in it. Some movies like Jurassic Park or Jaws people have a general idea of what happened - & they still remain popular.

I agree it's time for that attraction to get a change up.. the footage from the theater looks very 1990. Nothing bothers me more about Disney then an attraction with clearly outdated material. :veryconfu

I agree with you - it has been there a long time and technology has advanced during this period. However, as a concept it is a really good attraction. You don't need to know anything about the associated film to be able to sit down, understand and enjoy it

I loved it when it was new, but it simply doesn't have the timeless appeal of the Muppet show at MGM, and it is simply time for this attraction to go for something fresh and new again.

I've never been a big fan of HISTA... I've seen it before, but we've skipped it the past few times.

I would love to see a 3D movie staring Figment and Dreamfinder. Perhaps a film version of the original ride, which could provide a back story (and possibly lead to a reinvention of Journey). A movie about dreams and imagination would be appropriate, and would have lots of 3D fodder.

I know it won't happen, but I can dream, right?

imagination

Let's face it. The entire pavillion needs to be replaced/updated. Future World is a very interesting place at the moment. Some of the pavillions have been recently updated while others are desperately in need of work (imagination) and one (wonders of life) is virtually closed. I wonder if we will look back in 3-5 years, and think how this was just a blip in time on the way to a completely updated future world. When you wish upon a star...

I say create something along the lines of Cranium Comand with 3d film effects with Dream finder and Figment .. perhaps add weeble in there as well since the flubber guy is mentioned.

definitely time for something new...as much as I love the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids franchise, it's time for a change. Whatever they choose would more than likely have to be compatible with Tomorrowland, too, since Disneyland would want a similar change. How about "THE 3D SHOW Starring Nemo, Dory, Crush and other Assorted Friends inspired by the Walt Disney Pictures Presentation of a Pixar Animation Studios Film Finding Nemo!" It'll need a big marquee.

I don't really have a problem with it. I'm sure newer guests still enjoy it. However, they could replace it and I wouldn't care...

... as long as it isn't replace with another Pixar oriented attraction.

I don't really care for that side of Epcot at all. Everything seems dated to me. Soaring is great, but the pavillion it's in is icky.

Patience is a virtue, trust me... :animwink: Remember, dreams can come true...

Well, the last plans I checked saw the dynamic duo return in a 3-D film, so...

"If you wait for them, they will come..."
