I am sorry in advance for this post with no real "big news'' but I did promise you all that I would keep you updated on anything I see and here at work everyday so here goes...

Splash Mountain

Construction on the new redesighned splash mtn entrance area has been ongoing for about 2-3 weeks. All at night with only very small daily progress. This AM, though, we came in to find 3 large (like 20 feet high) polls sticking out of the ground about 5 feet apart and 10 feet infront of the current FP distribution area. Not sure why or what they are for. Ill keep you updated on that.

BTW, the construction is in no way affecting FP or Stand-By yet, everything is still working just like before. However do to low midweek atendence, and cold weather, FP at SM has been turned off, except on weekends.

FLICK

ok its not FLICK, its F.L.I.K, my bad. It is now being used everyday at splash and BTM, and is working great, But still not changing the Wait Times yet, but it will very soon. I know that it has been installed at all FP attractions at WDW plus some others. Mission Space and Mickeys Philharmagic will have it as well. If anyone cares, I can try to get a complet listing. Let me know!

Mickey's Philharmagic

One of my sources (who hasnt proved to me yet his credibiliy) has told me to look for soft openings and CM previews in early Feb, with a March opening. More info to come after the Jan 1st
The wall is still up, there is no sign up yet.

Crystal Palace

Dec 15th is still on as the opening day. That is what they are telling CM's to tell guests if they ask.

rain rain rain rain. Bad night to have gone. Both Parades CX. Fireworks CX. All outdoor shows CX. Lots of ed of guests
Tonights was aready sold out, not to sure what WDW did for the people??? anyone know??? anyone go???

started allowing 18+ into Manaquins (sp????) on sunday-thursday

PI question.....I love the Adventures Club!!! what do you consider the best library show???????

SAT Dec 7th.......projected HIGH attendence at MK, due to 2 bad Wx days on thur and fri. Avoid the MK tomorrow!!!

Ill post more info when i get it. Ill be playing in the parks all next week, trying to use up all my free passes before the end of the year. I wont be posting much this week BUT sould have lots to say when i do post again.

almost forgot the biggest news of all!!!!

1. there is a new penny press machine next to the TSI exit!!

2. about 3 weeks ago, they installed seats that give foot massages....one is near SM FP distrubution, the other near the Trading Post. very load and noisy.

I was wondering the exact same thing!! Sometimes these acronyms get a little frustrating (especially the obscure ones like these).

I think TSI is Tom Sawyer's Island. F.L.I.K. is a system Disney is using to measure waiting time in queue. FLCastmember can explain how it works.

The Manniquins things is just till the end of the month, not sure why they are doing this. And MK guest relations are giving 1 day tickets to the guest of MVMCP!!! or if you photo copy your wrist bands and send the tickets in with a short letter to guest communication they will partially refund the amount.

Were you talking about Feb. 2003..or 2004?
I also heard that the opening was in Fall2003, but I sure wouldn't mind an opening, soft or not...in Febuary. I'm going at the end of April...but I had thought for sure it wouldn't be open then. Like Captain Hook said, I hope they ARE reliable.:drevil:

i was there on the 5th and it was a pretty bad night to have gone. they did have the fireworks though. i think they may have been shortened due to rain, but the perimeter shots were pretty spectacular. also, no rudolph flying from the castle (although the goofy narration mentioned it and they shined a spotlight on the usual launch point on the castle). I overheard someone talking on the monorail on the way out saying that anyone who sends in their ticket and wristband with a letter expressing their disappointment will either get a refund or a free day pass. not sure if it would work:veryconfu , but it's worth a try. if it does work i'll let everyone know.

one good thing is that everything was a walk on (except for the souvenir photo locations - we got ours done at small world and only waited about 5 minutes, every other location i saw was packed- especially timekeeper and CoP). no line on the mountains at all.

no spalsh is not closed, just FP during the slow days

when it is slow, they close FP at the Mansion and Jungle
when it is really slow, Buzz and splash close also
when it is very very slow, BTM and Space close as well
Pan and Pooh are always open

sorry about the miss info on the FW for that day.

on the topic of PhilharMAGIC...

From what my people tell me... Feb 2003 is TOO early for even soft openings... they are saying more like May or early June. They could be wrong, but having been inside less than a month ago... they would seem to be on target.

Well, went to MVMCP on Dec. 5th...definitely still water logged. Disney offered the people a free day park hopper if you brought your wristband and ticket to City Hall. This didn't do me any good because we received wristbands and our ticket was taken away from us. I am going to try to write a letter and see if I can get tickets for another CP next year. You couldn't even walk in the Magic Kingdom without stepping in a puddle with 3 inches of water. We were planning to stay the whole night but left at around 915 because we were so pruned.

I thought that there was always a disclaimer about the weather...

If the weather is retched during the days Disney doesn't refund anything - why should MVMCP be any different?
