I am seeing all these signs along 192 that say Discounted tickets to Disney. Now most of them I am sure you have to go to a show for timeshares but a few say no strings attached. Are these reputable or is there really a catch even tho the big truck out front of the store says there isn't.Any help would be appreciated

If the ticket prices are more than $5-$10 off gate price you can pretty much assume that it is either a scam trying to sell used tickets or there is a time share involved.

We see these all the time too, but I wouldnt buy any of them. Maybe someone has, though, and can tell you about it.......

From the very first day I started reading these boards, people have recommended two safe discount ticket sites: Mapleleaftickets.com and undercovertourist.com.

I have purchased from both of these sites - one has free shipping (perhaps both, can't remember) and they are both SO helpful if you need to call or have questions.

Anything else I've seen (similiar to the billboards are those popup sites that say 3 Day Parkhopper, $50 a piece) has a time share presentation that is necessary, and a few other things. Don't even bother. And you can try eBay - we did and were lucky to find an honest seller...but remember, people will say ANYTHING to get rid of tickets they're not able to use (ie expired, children's tickets, etc.). Good luck!

I wouldn't even try those discount ticket places. You just never know. I have used www.undercovertourist.com (twice) and had good experiences both times. They have free shipping (or you can pick up the tickets). I guess you just have to follow the suggestion of "buyer beware."

The best way to get discounted tickets is with a AAA discount. Most discounted tickets involve a timeshare presentation. Disney only allows certain companies to resell tickets - travel agencies, AAA, and a couple of reputable ticket dealers (uncovertourist.com, ticketmania.com, and mapleleaftickets.com are the only three that I know of).

DO NOT purchase Disney tickets from eBay sellers or on the side of local area roads. Disney's ticket readers and biometric scanners are heavily patented and Disney tickets cannot be read by any device except the scanners on Disney property. Road-side vendors and eBay sellers have absolutely no way of proving to you how many days are left on a multi-day pass (that is what you're usually buying - a 10-day ticket that has five days left on it, for example). Also, if you read what your ticket says, they are non-transferable and it is illegal to resell partially used tickets. Plus, alot of times they won't work because they have the original purchaser's name on them and are linked to their biometric finger scan. If you present one of these at the gates and refuse to submit to the finger scan, they will ask you for ID, and when your ID does not match the name on the ticket... you get the drift.

The safest way to purchase tickets is through a travel agent, AAA, an authorized reseller, or Disney itself.
