Ticket Upgrade question

Ok, so I bought MYW base tickets and am fairly confident that this will suffice. But, if we decided to upgrade, is the cost the difference between what I paid (before price increase) and the then current cost for parkhoppers?

Thanks

No, you only have to pay the difference between the current price of your ticket and what you are upgrading to.

Upgrading base tickets to hoppers will only cost $50, which is the current cost of the hopper add-on. They won't charge you the difference between your base tickets and what they charge now. If you want to add a day, they'll only charge what it would cost to add that day, not more for the original days.

Actually, if you bought a ticket just before a price increase, or bought the ticket from an authorized third-party discounter, it is in your financial best-interest to use the ticket at least one time BEFORE doing the upgrade.

If you use the ticket first, you will pay ONLY for the upgrade. If you present an unused "discounted" ticket first, in addition to being charged for the upgrade you will also be charged the difference between what you paid for the ticket and what the CURRENT list price is.

EXAMPLE:

Let's say (and I'm creating numbers here) you bought a ticket before the rent price increase. Let's say that the same ticket is now $25 more than it was when you bought it.

You hold on to the ticket (you haven't used it) and then you go to WDW. Before you use the ticket, you decide to add the Park Hopper option to it. The park hopper costs $50 + tax. But if you haven't used the ticket yet, when you go to add the Park Hopper they will charge you $75 + tax ... the $50 for the hopper and the $25 for the price difference.

But if you use the ticket at least one time, and THEN upgrade, you'll be charged only the $50 + tax for the hopper.

Strange but true ... but straight from a CM who works in a ticket window.

Absolutely exactly perfect! Good Job Monty!!!! Belle
