You have a very valid point; however, it could well likely be a day visit with no resort staying (if local). Or, if not local, a cheaper hotel outside Walt Disney World is certainly an option (along with the huge array of restaurants in the area outside of WDW). Also, back then, the prices for food, etc. and resorts were lower. Just a thought.

But I definitely see what you're getting at.

If you are local a price hike is harder to swallow but for me factoring 20$ extra in for my vacation that is already costing 3k doesnt matter too much. Its kinda funny actually how the parks are the cheapest part of my trip :)

This past year I talked dh into getting an AP instead of a Length of Stay. It was only about $10 more for the AP and we were able to go back for another week within the year! The only part that the boys were disappointed with was the fact that we didn't get the "premier"? pass, which allows admission to the water parks (the boys have never done), Disney Quest, and Pleasure Island. Although we could always just pay for a 1-day pass in the future. We watched the Top 10 Water Parks on the Travel Channel last night and Blizzard Beach was #2. I think we won't have a choice next trip, especially since the boys will be older.

Since the park passes are the most expensive part of our trip (we have time share & don't pay "extra" for our villa) it's the most economical way to go. Our passes are good until August 30th so I'm still holding out all hope that we'll get to go down again. Maybe I can talk dh into doing a weekend and living out of our truck!
Our 17 hr. trip wasn't all as bad as we thought, but I might be stretching this one. We are already talking about going back with dh's brother in August next summer and then heading back for another Star Wars Weekend in 2005 (it was A LOT of fun!!) I STILL have to get those pics developed, though! We've already been back home a week and 47 minutes!!

I can see reasons why Disney has to raise ticket prices because of maintance up keep, payin their employees, but I think they should also offer what Universal and Sea World does sometimes like the second day free. Also it wouldn't hurt to bring down the price of those annual passes a bit. I mean people who like to go as much as I do who are Florida residents should deserve a break. One of the few reasons that I like Universal a bit more these days is that I can afford it.

This is what I don't understand about ticket prices. Why is a one-day, one-park ticket cheaper at disneyland then at disney world. I know that there is more parks at disney world, but if its a one day one park, then what difference would it make. It's like a $5 or more since the prices went up. I don't know, this just doesn't make any sense to me :hammer:
